It's all good and really graphic arts I find it to be difficult but at least you tried. I would rage quit. It's fine that you do not know anything you'll start learning soon and also taking those high school classes really do help.
Getting a learn how to draw book really does help I do have some and I will practice off from that and try new things. and it's ok that I had to look at it, I mean it's a start :) and graphic arts are different from traditional art work, but can somewhat be the same in ways. kinda. I just find that i'm good with using different traditional media then trying to create something with photoshop.
But you will notice when you are improving as long you keep on practicing and learning different skills and exploring ideas and compositions then you will not have a problem.
and yes you will learn the language of art, sometimes I don't get it and I just go with my gut feeling especially when i am painting.
but it makes me happy that you are willingly to learn and improve your work :D
I understand what you are saying (A little.)
The entire concept of internet/online artwork is new to me entirely; I see people who use it to its fullest whereas I am just begging and don't really know anything.
In reality, I can't draw at all (Depends on what I'm drawing, I do have some good drawings.). And I am eager to learn (I'm thinking about learning from one of those "How To Draw" books which seem a bit more professional.), I'm taking an Art 1 class now (I'm in High School.) and I see myself slowly improving, but I have not been taught ANYTHING in computer graphic art. I know it was insanely crappy and I"m sorry you had to lok at it, but I just wanted to try.
You are just beginning at the wonderful world of art, which I am assuming? Which is fine, because anybody can do it as long you practice , practice, and practice even more. I notice you that you like the kingdom heart fandom with the designing the keyblades, which is perfectly fine. I notice that you are using warm colors for this piece which goes perfect with it since, it's name hellfire triangle. The warm colors being yellow, orange, and red. You have the basic shapes going well in the picture with of course the triangles. I mean this is really a simple picture. I can see that you tried some blending with the squares in the background where the yellow golden color is at, but I feel you don't know what you are doing (it's ok gotta learn somehow). I think you really should pick up a pencil and paper and just start sketching on what you see. and it could be anything that you want it to be. With knowing the basic shapes of an item you can form that item/object into a drawing. What I also notice in this picture that there's no color variations or shading. I think it would be a good idea to look into shading and variations of colors, it will make your art pop out more and life like. Your composition (how your subject matter is placed) is simple and I feel there's too much empty space, even though you did a background. There's too much space. Overall, you are trying and that's good you have to start somewhere and I didn't know a lot until I got into high school and I learned so much and I improved within those 4 years from drawing anime to realism. And now I am in college and i'm still learning a lot. You have to start somewhere and you will learn a lot more. Really you should look at different artists work and see how they do their works of art and just practice. (i feel like i am giving you a lesson too). But if you have any questions feel free to ask. :)
