This is for Saku-chan's Pokemon contest. :D My pokemon, Maraino. I had a rather tough time with this because it was essentially my first time using my tablet in a long time, and I've never used it to color before! I did have fun with this though. My outlines are really wobbly, but I can't help it; my hands aren't steady at all. ^^; For the coloring, I used different brushes but mainly this one that makes it look like watercolor on canvas. [the original is the top one in teal; I changed the hues to make the other version green]

I made him (I say "him" although it can be male or female) resemble a manatee and a dragon just because...I think manatees are cute, and they used to be my favorite animals! I felt that he needed some horns and those fin-like ear things...to make him cute. :D I kept that theme with his hands and tail, too. I love the water, and I would always use water pokemon, too, so that's why he is what he is! And yes, he's a glutton....such a cute fatty!! That's because manatees are chubby and weigh a lot (way more than him). As for the name, Maraino, well, most of the name comes from "Marine" and the "ino" part comes from, well, kind of an inside joke with my family about a baseball player I love--Victorino. XD And the pig-nose he has also comes from a nickname for another player on our team, hehe. A term of endearment, really. Pig nose. Aww.

That scribble in the middle is my signature. Don't you love it? It's so illegible. Anyhoo, this is my entry. I actually like it...sorry for saying it looked bad. ^^;
