For a 100 Themes List I got a while back. I finally started with this. Um...I decided that I wanted to do a drawing and write something for each theme, so here's the crappy short I wrote to go along with the picture:
I’d like to forget about the old times of frosting-covered fingers and hopscotch. And it’s kinda like falling but without the scraped knees and crocodile tears. There’s no more dreaming of who you’re gonna be when you grow up—because I’m already there, and in this world band-aids don’t fix everything. I’d like to forget about you and your dreams because I’ve failed you. In this world, failing isn’t a bad grade on an arithmetic worksheet, it’s the line between a lie and a regret and the dark that you’ll never give up fearing. In this world, the monsters truly are real—and you can’t tell their faces from your loved. In this world, love and life may as well be four-letter words. And happy is only on commercials for things like toothpaste and credit cards. You’re world has mud-pies and jumping on the bed; my world has jumping alright, but it’s more like a release. Don’t jump, I’ll miss you. I’d like to forget about you before you make me sick to my stomach. You’ll be this someday, so don’t cry. You’ll never get anywhere with that attitude. You’ll only stay a child. But can I stay with you? Or is there no hope for someone like me?
