Amidst the terrified shrieks, and choked battle cries spilling into the air, he watched knowing the battle would soon be over. The men he’d so belligerently lead into battle were slaughtered like animals, left to rot on the pillaged remains of a sorrowful village. He was torn between carelessly aiding his troops in a hopeless battle, or returning home only to face the pitfall of disgrace and despair. Just as another bloody scream was made, he realized that he was the last one, the last warrior from his home left standing.
