Yeah, paneling is a pain. I find myself drawing the same format for each page and then I have to go back and fix it...;m;

Ah, yeah...eventually I'll upload it when I'm done with the first chapter...but I do have the outline done! I wonder if doing an outline first is a good idea or not, but I worry if I don't I'll get sidetracked (got do it all in baby steps).

Interesting. I vertor in Gimp using the lasso tool then stroking the selection. Sometimes I use the brush or pencil tools too. Or paths it varies.

Yes, I use a tablet, but I don't vector in SAI at all. The vector options in SAI is confusing to me, I prefer PS for vectoring.

Do you use a tablet or do you accomplish all the lineart with just a mouse? I usually draw everything by hand first and then edit on Gimp so in my art the lineart is by hand but I guess if Sai gives nice lineart it must be very good for vectoring, right?

Yeah, SAI is limited, but in a good way. It gives me nicer lineart~

I get you!!! I find the fact that I can't manipulate screen tones very annoyng too!!!!!!!!! And I've never used PS. So I completely understand your frustration. Sadly you just told me SAI doesn't have screentones, I'm getting the feeling Sai is a limited program too, am I correct? Sorry I keep asking questions, I haven't downloaded it yet!!!

Well, you can't really 'manipulate' screentones when used in a pattern format. They won't change. If a pattern is too small, and my drawing is too big, what I'll only get is a blurred pattern if used in a big scale.

I was just so used to Photoshop already before I discovered Gimp, that it was just annoying to use, having such limited options too.

Screentones, patterns, I think of them as the same thing. Depends on the resolution too. I tried Gimp, but hated it. xDDD

OOOOh! Thanks for the info!!! I use Gimp, I've never used PS, and there's a pattern section in the program, those aren't screen tones even if they look like screen tones right? Because I'm suppossed to be able to manipulate screentones, right. For example if it's dots the dots are supposed to be bigger and then as they reach the end they're suppossed to get smaller and that doesn't happen with patterns. Just saying and asking.

No, it doesn't... SAI is more simpler than Photoshop. I get my screentones from a site that referenced in the description of the cover of Question Cafe.

I want SAI so BAD!!!!!!!! I almost download it once but then I didn't. It said it was free and an English version made by fans or something, so I'm gussing the program is actually Japanese, right or am I wrong??? Did you download it from fans that translated or were they a scam???

Thanks; yeah, sometimes, you just can't find everything you need in one program, or one does certain things better than the other (like for me, once I finish coloring the images in Manga Studio, I copy them piece-by-piece into MS Paint because they'll be too small otherwise XD).

I like the story so far and I have to say that the art is really good, very clean with straight lines. Yes, I can totally imagine reading this as an official manga in a bookstore.The plot is very interesting and I like the concept of having your questions answered in a cafe.I'll be waiting for the next updates!
