You always remember your first...
We all had to start somewhere. Whether we're still fangirls and fanboys outwardly or just at heart, or not at all anymore, whether we're proud of ourselves or extremely ashamed, just about everyone has had characters that they fantasized about more than any other.
So, theOtaku, I ask you this. Who was the first fictional character that you loved enough to write crappy blatant self-insert fanfiction about? That you covered the margins of your notes and the covers of your notebooks with doodles of? That you killed off 3 ink cartridges printing pictures of off the internet to cover the walls of your room with?
Write a World post about it.
Here's what you have to include:
- The character's name and what they were from.
- Why you liked them, if you can remember. If you can't, then take a guess.
- How much did you love them? What kind of stuff did you do to show it? (Write fanfiction? Draw fanart? Cover everything you owned with pictures of them? Use their name as your nickname? Write your first name with their last name? What?)
- How do you feel looking back on it? Proud? Ashamed? Neutral? Something else?
- Do you still like them today, or do you wonder what you were thinking back then?
- A picture of the character. You can use a screenshot, a fanart (as long as you credit the artist and link to where you found it), or you can get creative. We just need to see what they look like.
- Whatever else you want!
And, of course, the rules.
- This is open to fangirls and fanboys equally.
- The character doesn't have to be from anime, manga, or video games.
- Watch your grammar and language.
- If you're going to put spoilers about the character or the story they came from, please use spoiler tags.
- Keep it PG-13.
- You have until the end of October.
- And one that goes for everyone, not just participants. Use common sense. Don't flame anybody.
This is just for fun, so no need to be super-serious (unless you really want to). It's mostly so we can all get a better idea of where we came from and how we got where we are now, and to have fun with it.
That also means there are no winners or losers, and no prizes either. Though I may draw a commemorative pic in the end...
