If I ever got an Edward barbie as a present.....I'd probably throw it down the garbage disposal. First I'd see if they made it sparkle (if they did then I'd scream), then make the sink eat it. :D

If there's a Jacob, I'd probably not care. I love Jacob, but I don't love the fact that it's a doll. :/
Sorry for those Twilight fans that I've horrified by my post.....but I truly despise the movies. The books were kinda good until Robert Pattinson wearing lipstick and glitter powder walked into the Twilight world. >:/

That and theOtaku caters to more than just anime fans. :p I've personally read all four books and seen the first movie. I have a very, VERY low opinion of it.

But when it comes to news or other aspects of theOtaku, I don't let my own personal basis regardless of the anime, movie, music, etc... get in the way of doing my job around here.

Because, believe it or not, there's a fandom for it and it's pretty darn huge (thus, claiming that "only a small percentage" of Otakuites actually care is kind of a harsh generalization to make without any actual evidence to back it up.) Trust me, if this site could exclude series based on whether or not the users liked it, I would have had the place purged of Naruto over a year ago.

And the argument that it's not anime or manga isn't exactly a valid one, either. Neither are Pixar, Marvel or most of the video games covered here. There's room for all kinds 'round these parts, and I'd rather not be forced to drag my Treasure Planet fanboying over to the Miley Cyrus-infested Disney forums if it's all the same to you. :p

Also it gives us non-fans something to lol and snark at, which is always a bonus
