I watched a lot of anime, read a lot of manga (about 20+ xD) and spent my time playing video games. xDD all I can say is summer is awesome. but, its the end of summer for me -.- coz I'm in Asia. I will hwve less time for everything now. awww. xDD but summer is totally fun!!
I've been out of school for awhile so it seems like summer break all the time for me. XD I just recently got back into anime after what it seems like forever. So I guess I've been watching more. =) I haven't picked up a manga in a long time maybe I'll slowly get back into that as well.
And as for video games. Haha I do that the most out of the three. :) Especially trying to catch up with 'Dragon's Age' because I plan on reading the books and hopefully have it all catch up on before the third one comes out. XD So many games I need to beat and try. XD Maybe even replay.
Though most of my time is in my art. I would go outside more often, but it being hurricane season we are prone to get rainy wet weather here during the summer it already rain for two full weeks here...but it looks really nice out today so I might go walk around the yard a bit. =) I just hope we don't have bad weather in July. DX
Ah haah~ I spend my days doing work and helping my family out around the house, hanging with friends, and the like. But, once that sun goes down (and, sometimes, earlier) I'm playing video games, re-reading my manga, and watching some new anime. XDDD So, I try to work everything in. That includes drawing manga as well and trying to get some art done. ^^
It's good to see that everyone can find time to enjoy themselves the way an Otaku is happiest. XD
Soooooooo much manga over the summer... ^^;;
Um I don't watch that much anime in general, I'm a manga person, but in the summer I do watch more that usual! This is the summer I finish YuYu Hakusho and I'll probably try out 2-3 new anime series I'll watch in their entirity this summer! ^o^/
OwO/ YAY for free time/ holidays it's a free time to do ANYTHING you didn't have time & yep more time to watch anime + read manga that you wanted to read/watch & didn't had time to ^w^b so MORE than less thants to holidays =w=b
I usually watch anime or read manga every other day regardless of how busy I am. It's what I do to relax and it's even more of a treat now that I am on break for the summer. Anime/manga kinda spills into other hobbies such as music (trying to learn how to play a few Vampire Knight songs on the piano and violin - LOL - so not going well so far :D)
Definitely not shutting myself up in the house all day either. If someone wants to drag me out to a BBQ or some other summer social thing I'll go for it.
I might squeeze more than I bargain for some days but it's worth the raccoon eyes when I wake up happy. ^______^
Hmm. Hard to say because my schedules are so weird. See, I'm watching two summer schedule anime through a stream (Sakamichi no Apollon and Lupin the III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine) but I'm also watching the *current* Big Three in Western Animation. They are MLP: FiM, Adventure Time, and Avatar: Legend of Korra. I don't know when the anime are ending but Korra ends it's first season Saturday and Adventure Time ends some time in July/August. MLP isn't airing anything but it's cool to look for episodes that sounded interesting and YouTube has roughly all of them. In addition, Puella Magi Madoka Magica just came out with Volume 3 in English, something I will eagerly look for in free English sites. Manga wise, I've got nothing set up unless I want to go back and finish the War on the Moon Arc in Soul Eater. Not the biggest manga fan, I can say that much. Video games wise, I have a Mac and a Wii with no action games. So...I'm dead in the water. Though I could go back to playing Minecraft and Team Fortress 2 if I felt like doing so. In addition, work is crazy this time of year (I work in a supermarket buffet area) so less fun time.
Gosh, my life got difficult.

I lay in bed watching anime on netflix whilst I complain about how hot it is. Any reason is a good reason to be a summer bum. I spend too much time at work anyways, so summer weekends are always awesome.....especially with a glass of wine :3

I find myself playing a lot of video games, reading more manga, but watching less anime. In the case of both video games and manga, it's a kind of go at your own pace thing, so I can sneak in 15 minutes of reading or 15 minutes of playing whereas with anime it's a set time so it's harder to find a block of time to sit down.
Plus, video games and manga can be portable, which is very handy. Although I have been getting the girls I babysit into anime, so I get to sneak in a few episodes of anime that way. :)
Boy...in the summer I don't have much 2 do...I mean, I used to be very vigilant in getting more and more manga to read and more anime to watch...but lately it's been a lot harder to find all of the series I want, so unfortunately...I feel I'm having a lot less anime. but i'm trying, ya know?
I've been out of school for over 10 years, so i really dont have summer break or summer portion of my yearly schedule lol.
However, throughout each year I usually get to a point where im overloaded with anime that i've bought and havent watched yet, so i usually start spending entire weekends (when im off work) to watch anime and catch up with the stuff ive bought. I just recently reached that point the past couple of weeks. I ordered alot of VHS anime for cheap online, and they've been coming in the mail, so ive been trying to watch them as they arrive. I havent really been playing games for my xbox 360 lately (which i usually do during the week), so i guess you could say that ive been extra lazy lately lol.
Normally i keep a balanced schedule of anime, videogames, but sometimes i'll take a break from games and spend most of my time watching anime, or the other way around when i feel like taking a break from anime, it usually depends what i feel like doing when i get home from work in the morning lol.
Well that's pretty much how it is for me, I better get back to watching Patlabor 1, so i can finish it and start watching one of these new vhs anime titles i bought :)
I'm not really interested in watching anime anymore; I plan to catch up on and start a lot of TV shows, though. And read at least one manga a day - though I prefer shorter (<4 volumes) ones and I'm a fast reader, so that won't be a problem. Not much going outside during the day since the heat is scorching, but my nights will probably be spent on looong walks :3
The Gluttony Fang (Otaku Eternal) | Posted 06/13/12 | Reply
My reading and gaming tends to go into hibernation when the sun comes out. Well, my manga reading, anyway. I tend to read more novels that lack graphics as I bathe in the sunlight.
I guess there's no big difference in how much I watch anime in the summer and other times of the year. I usually watch anime whenever I get the chance and am in the mood for it.
As for manga I guess I do most of my manga reading in the fall and winter. Think about it, you can read manga just about any time and anywhere, provided you aren't reading it on an iPad or a computer and don't have a power outlet in case you need a recharge. If you have a little time between class and nothing else you have to do, or perhaps if you're just waiting for your ride out, you can just pull out some manga from your bag and start reading. Maybe you could listen to some music too while you're at it, that is if you have an iPod or other similar device. That's what I usually do.
Of course some summers I read the Card Captor Sakura manga if I'm in the mood for it. As for my fall and winter reading I have a schedule of manga that changes a little each year. And i guess some of it is summer reading since the schedule starts in August.
I don't really have a summer break, since I live at a tropical zone. But right now I have almost 3 months break from university. YAY! I'll definitely read more manga, watch more anime, and play more game. But, unfortunately my net is down :( so I'll stick with my anime collection this time, and I will steal some of my friends collections. MWAHAHAHAHA. So that I'll have more anime to watch!
Wish I could actually say "I always look forward to summer because of more free time", but I can't. I'm out of school (can't afford a next semester of college) and I'm unemployed (but looking for work) so summer is kinda year-round for me ^^; I have all the time in the world for the time being and most of the time I spend it online and watching anime. I don't watch anime back to back to back though. I usually get bored after two or three episodes so I have to stop.
I wish I could go back to my school days and look forward to summer. Now my days just run together ... it's not as fun as it sounds ^_^;
During the summer I tend to play more video games than watch anime, but I do read manga a lot more typically than I do in the fall. Since I have homework and exams, I tend to watch more anime while working on something for school because it doesn't require attention like video games and manga do. But no matter the season, my spending habits don't change. I'm usually broke from whatever I'm buying... More so in the summer when there are conventions and I want some merchandise or anime... It's a terrible cycle.
I think my viewing habits stay fairly consistent throughout the year, and if they do get disrupted it's not really related to any seasonal change. I have a nice schedule where I watch anime later in the evening, and it works well. No daytime disruptions, no matter the season!
But now that summer is rolling 'round once again, I always find myself fine-tuning my summer vibe by watching some Haruhi Suzumiya. I find it to be great summer viewing, and I'll probably watch it all over again this summer! That might be one seasonal habit of mine, which I'm pretty happy to maintain.

School is but a distant memory as were School Summer Holiday.
As for Summer itself we barely get them here in the UK.
Despite that it's usually the best time for me to start new series and end old ones.
Heh, I've been outside a lot, but I'm watching more anime now than anytime of the year. Lesser manga, and I don't play video games. The weather is too great for that :P although I am guilty of watching more movies, specifically horror.
I'm still in school. And I find myself not enjoying summer at all, I hate the heat and miss my beloved winter. Not watching any anime at all, but playing a bit more video games then I had been.
Ich such dich unter jedem Stein Wo bist du Ich schlaf mit einem Messer ein
I guess right now I find myself watching more anime, reading more mangas, and playing more video games. I'm not much of an outside person, I never was. I grew up on video games and played them ever since I can remember!. Since school got in the way and took up most of my time I never could watch and read anime or video games as often as I do now. Until i get a job this is what my summer will consist of ^^
"the sum is warmer" fantastic. I hope to get through more manga and anime and games <3 School takes sooo much time T_T No AX for me this year T^T.... Trying to balance school and fandom, leaning more towards fandom of course :)
I usually find myself watching less anime, playing less video games, and reading less manga in the summer months because I'm always trying ot be outside doing something.
As school has been over for me for several years now, summer really doesn't give me much more free time. I actually started watching more anime over this past winter - which is a trend I do see continuing. I have a few plans for upcoming weekends that will keep me away from the TV for at least awhile, (major cleaning project) but once summer really kicks in and it starts getting too hot to do anything the only plan I have is to plunk myself down in front of my air conditioner and watch TV. I would like to finish a couple of the video games that I bought (though that will probably take awhile) and I will continue reading manga at about the rate I am now - unless I find a new book obsession. All in all, I really do not believe that my fandom choices will change greatly with how much attention they get.
I watch a lottt of anime. I've finished about three series in a few weeks and have started about four more, caught up on old series. Pretty much what I do to pass the time. I still have some manga I have to read though now that I have time.

The past few summers I haven't increased or decreased much in my fandom activities - for the most part I've just been derping around online or hanging out with friends, usually indoors because living in a desert does not bode well for lots of outdoor fun unless you have a pool nearby. Now I'm too far from my friends to hang out with them too often (plus one of them has a full-time job), so recently I've been trying to get through a huge list of anime, at least to bide time before my big road trip with my grandparents before school starts.
I used to watch/read a lot of anime and manga, but now I find myself spending more time outside in my yard and working on projects around my house. Much more fun than wasting a beautiful day inside.
Now that summer's here I've got work, so I can't watch to much anime. I do read A LOT more manga though. Right down the road from where I work is a book store. ^^
School has been out for me and now I'm looking forward to my college semester starting up next spring. I've also got a few plans ahead as well.
I believe my time will be dedicated to none other than playing video games and catching up with a couple of story projects I've been working on for myself. As for Anime and Manga, I really need to catch up on it, and I have a huge list of different Animes that I need to watch. Summer is a lazy time too, so I probably won't get around to it. I'll have to force myself away from the games. It'll be a challenge, but I'll try to. C:
I am watching more anime with my siblings, and by my self.
I'm reading less manga, my mom does not like me reading all the time.
and playing less video games
Ah I seem to do more reading of manga and watching of anime, especially the latter. I get the itch to watch all the Studio Ghibli animes again, which I shall do this summer too xD
For me, my summer fandom habits in terms of anime and manga usually involves finding time to do anime/manga fan art, and time I spend watching anime per summer can vary depending on what titles I find that I like to watch. As for manga, I don't spend much time reading manga as I do watching anime during an annual basis, but I still read manga based on what I'm interested in.
And yes, going to Otakuthon (which take place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is part of my annual anime/manga summer tradition. I have been going there since its begining in 2006.
Since I basically don't watch or game during the school year (my intense lack of free time dictates it to be so, as well as the mediocre winter shows), summer is about my only time to do those things.
Also I don't have cable out at college. That kinda hinders things.
To be honest i will be glued on watching anime, mangas are a everyday thing. video games would be a bit less considering the fact that anime manga time will take over.lol
Well, I would say a little more on the video games, but given that school has been over for me for almost a year now, and job searchings/callbacks have been kind of slim (bad economy and all that), I'll probably be watching a similar amount of anime (maybe just a little more, given that I want to return to some of my DVDs and maybe finish Howl's Moving Castle), reading a little more manga (once my library gets a few more books in that I've got holds on), and still doing a lot of gaming. Primarily, though, I'll definitely be writing and drawing more, given that I want to get something published (maybe I can finally finish my first story over the summer :D)

Apparently, Torchlight 2 will be out soon. And it has MP. Should it not be delayed (yet again), summer will be fun. Might as well go play some Dungeons & dragons (pen & paper), haven't done it for quite a while. Also, got a life-size drawing in mind. Time 2 get busy!
i watch and read more
eventually during the summer the book stores and library remember me by face and name >3<
i become a TRUE nerdy girl during that time because i have so much extra time on my hands and dont know what to do with it.
summer is als when i try new anime/manga like last summer i tried Kuroshitsuji for the first time and now its one of my FAVORITES ever!!
<3 Audrey
This year I'll have less time, thanks to my dreaded summer school course.
;______________________;
Usually I read more manga / watch more anime during the summer, though.
I find my self reading more, watching more anime and playing more video games because i have more time to do it. With school i have less time because of home work and what not.
During the summer months I spend way too much times playing (in a grown up way!!!!!) outside. I did break my wrist recently tho.... so more sitting inside reading and drawing and less swimming and baseball.
Neko Girl (Otaku Eternal) | Posted 06/12/12 | Reply
I read more manga. -w-b Best thing about manga is that if you have it in book form it's portable...and can be read outside. I watch a little more amine...but not that much due to my summer job.
Gosh, I definitely would be spending more time reading manga, but summer in our family means more time to study for the SAT, taking summer courses, etc. So I'm finding myself to be busier during the summer. >.>
i love to read a bunch of anime and watch alot of anime because i am an anime fanatic i go crazy when i dont read anime
and i play a ton of video games..
but i also go outside to because i also have other things to do in life than just anime..
oh and i also draw a bunch of anime too in my free time.
i'm definitely an indoor person- i burn within ten minutes so i'd say i watch/read more anime/manga but not that much more. my free time turns to drawing or hanging with friends more than anything. :D if i can i'll read in the shade- that's the best thing to do >:3

:)Morbid Dollie

I wish I could go back to my school days and look forward to summer. Now my days just run together ... it's not as fun as it sounds ^_^;
