Otaku Reality Show Catches FUNi Using Subs
The folks at FUNimation may have some explaining to do. During the filming of Tokyopop's second episode of America's Greatest Otaku, a downloaded episode of Sora no Otoshimono (Heaven's Lost Property), which had been subtitled by the stream-ripping group HorribleSubs, was shown being used at FUNi's studios for dubbing. While no official comment has been released by FUNimation, an anonymous source at the company said they sometimes use "unofficial" copies of their licensed material, since FUNimation having a license makes use of the material legal, even with fan-translated subtitles added.
