Tokyopop To Shutter N. American Offices
Tokyopop is saying sayonara to America. The publishing company's Los Angeles office will be shutting its doors for good on May 31. It will, however, keep its European-based offices open and producing works. Tokyopop has been beleaguered by setbacks, most recently attributing its last round of lay-offs to bookstore chain Borders filing for bankruptcy. Tokyopop Senior Vice President Mike Kiley said the future of specific titles will be announced at a later date.
