Well, here's one way to get people into manga culture.
Kyoto Seika University announced Tuesday it will offer Japan's first doctorate program in manga studies. Applications will be accepted next January, admission tests will be held in February, and 4-12 new students will be accepted into the program in April 2012.
Kyoto Seika University was also the first to install a specialized manga studies area in 2000, and a Faculty of Manga in 2006. The university also established a master's degree program in manga last year.
