Disney has reached out to Japan for some art collaborations, giving Disneyland park-goers something new and interesting to see (and buy). Perhaps more interesting is the artist with whom Disney inked its deal: erotic game illustrator and character designer Aoi Nishimata.
Nishimata made her name off of adult-only games such as "Shuffle!" and "Really? Really!" which later went on to have less intense all-ages versions. Lately, she's been working as an all-around moe-artist, detailing everything up to and including food packaging.
I guess when someone has a big name and has a hand for drawing ultra-cute characters, even someone as solidly-family branded as Disney will look past the other stuff for the greater good. The greater good, of course, being financial investment. Good on them - all of them!
