Sony has found a new writer and director for their Uncharted: Drake's Fortune film adaptation: Neil Burger, whose previous work includes the films Limitless and The Illusionist.
Studio and producers alike signed Burger on after they "sparked" to his take on the film, which ties much closer to the game's story than the last treatment. The previous director, David O. Russell, left the project last May due to creative differences with Sony.
Sony has been chomping at the bit, "aggressively developing" what, by all means, should be a straight forward and successful film franchise based on what is already an extremely cinematic video game. As for Burger - much like the game Drake's Fortune - he isn't perfect, but still has a way of making the best parts of his works vivid and memorable. So we shall see...
