The Digital Manga Association of Japan has announced its JManga web site, a site dedicated to official digital releases of Japanese manga, will be launching on August 17.
The site, which has been in a closed beta since the beginning of this year, was created to help combat the production of illegal "scanlations" being produced on the internet without the permission of the original authors. JManga will launch with several titles available to readers, including Naruto, Kekkaishi, and Crayon Shin-chan.
The site will reportedly also feature interviews with manga artists and articles regarding the state of the industry.
