B&N Takes On Borders Leftovers
The troubled economy is affecting the manga industry (again). Book retailer Barnes & Noble began a 50% clearance sale on manga after Borders filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy earlier this year, forcing the closure of the company's stores nationwide. This sale includes Toykopop merchandise, which was formerly distributed by the retailer. It's been forecasted that prices on the brand may be slashed further if the overstock isn't sold off soon. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.
