You know you're somewhere crooked when when you need an investigator AND a lawyer to set the scene straight--and you know you're somewhere especially crooked when that investigator is Professor Layton and the lawyer Phoenix Wright. Such is the premise of the upcoming 3DS game Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright, which recently launched its first gameplay trailer:
The trailer is most notable for displaying the game's use of 3D-rendered characters, so you can watch Phoenix's frustrations and Layton's investigations played out in polygonal splendor. The game's premise involves the two titular heroes being forced to work together to save the medieval city of Labyrinth from an evil sorcerer ruler called Story Teller, who has the ability to bring pen strokes to life.
Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright has a vague Japanese release date (sometime in 2012) and an unknown, but almost assuredly eventual, English port.
Now the big question: If you were wrongly accused of a crime, which of the two would you want by your side?
