Tanuki Mario Promoting Fur? PETA Thinks So
Does Mario's use of a tanuki suit in the Super Mario 3D Land game encourage the slaughter of innocent woodland creatures? It does according to PETA, who recently attacked the game for encouraging the wearing of furs. Of course, PETA are well known for the animal-related histronics, even when it comes to things that are obviously fantasy. Nintendo has responded, saying "The different forms that Mario takes make no statement beyond the games themselves."
