Summer Wars, Girl Who Leapt Through Time Director's New Film
A new website has been been launched to announce the newest work of Mamoru Hosoda. The film, Okami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki (The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki), tells the tale of Hana, a 19 year-old college student who falls in love with a wolf man. After marrying him, she gives birth to two children, Ame and Yuki, who are half human and half wolf. The life of Hana becomes exceedingly complicated and she moves to a rural town in order to raise her children. Ultimately, the tale is one of parental love towards one's offspring.
Hosoda has created a small studio dubbed Studio Chizu specifically for this project though MADHOUSE is credited. In addition, the screenplay and animation direction are being handled by Satoko Okudera and Takaaki Yamashita respectively, both of which worked on Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
