When Cosplay Becomes Business, Serious Or Otherwise...
Crystal Graziano is perhaps one of the most famous and well known American video game cosplayers around. She's done some jaw-dropping work with cosplays from Metal Gear Solid to Valkyria Chronicles (in which we know her as that Selvaria).
And now, she has a one year sponsorship contract with Red 5 Studios, creators of the upcoming game Firefall.
For the next twelve months Crystal will act as Firefall's character Mourningstar at press and community events while wearing a top-level costume built by the same guy who made the original Predator suits. In return, Red 5 will fund any cosplay projects she has during the year, be it for supplies, tools, or what have you.
Here on out, not every use of "cosplay is serious business" will be ironic, it seems.
