In our completely unbiased opinion, anime rules the animation nest, with the occasional Pixar exception that swoops in, snatches a worm, and retreats like heck (sorry, Brave, you crashed into the tree). While I fondly remember the non-anime cartoon series I grew up with (X-Men, Doug, Ninja Turtles), I'd struggle to call any of them art. Entertainment for all ages was their highest aspiration and that's okay. Making a cartoon for a society that doesn't appreciate them that also satisfies the business people, kids, adults, and your own artistic sensibilities can't be easy. Unless you're the creator of Avatar.
This week's discussion question: What's your favorite non-anime cartoon?
You can name a TV show, a movie or both.
