Discuss: What's Your Anime Origin Story?
Back when theOtaku.com was a video game website, we had a staff member who was obsessed with anime. On IM she'd often chide me for my ignorance on the subject. "You like JRPGs so you'll like anime," she said, "Even your beloved Chrono Trigger was art directed by the creator of DragonBall Z!" I ignored her pleas until one day she sent me a copy of Ninja Scroll. The violence and adult sexuality floored me (I wasn't even 18 yet) and thus began my journey into this crazy world.
