Mole’s Adventure Screenshots Posted
Last week, we broke news regarding the discovery of the oldest TV anime, Mole’s Adventure. This week, we can share three images from the anime, courtesy of the newspaper Asahi Shimbun. The work is still in good condition and re-premieres July 21st on BS Animax. Link
The Life of a Legend
Before the new Pokémon movie Pokémon: ExtremeSpeed Genesect reveals the epic return of Mewtwo, a new TV special wants to take you back to the beginning. Prologue of the Awakening will describe the turbulent life of Mewtwo following the events of the first movie. It premieres July 11 on TV Tokyo. Link
The Future Is In the Cards
The first trailer has been posted for the anime Il Sole Penetra le Illusioni (The Sun Penetrates the Illusions). Directed by Keizou Kusakawa (Seikerei, Inukami!), the series tells of a war between twenty-two tarot card owners who fight on the sides of the Elemental and Diabolos factions.
Man Charged With Disrupting Movie Premiere
A man in his thirties from Adachi ward was charged on Saturday with public disruption. At approximately 1:40PM at the premiere of Hyperneptunia Dimension: The Movie, the man ran to the front of the theatre holding an eight-inch knife. Despite the panic, only voice actress Rie Tanaka suffered minor injuries. Link
tsuritama Dub Cast Announced
Sentai Filmworks has announced the cast for the 2012 fishing anime tsuritama. The cast includes little-known actors Adam Gibbs, Clint Bickham, Corey Hartzog and Josh Grelle. The DVD and Blu-Ray will be released July 30.
Another Dub Cast Announced
Sentai also announced the dub cast for Another, a 2012 horror title. Names include Monica Rial, Greg Ayres, Jessica Boone and Chris Patton. Another has yet to receive a release date.
Shining Hearts Dub Cast Announced
Finally, Sentai Filmworks announced the 2012 harem anime Shining Hearts dub cast. Actors include Blake Shepard, Maggie Flecknoe, Genevieve Simmons and Brittney Karbowski. Expect a DVD/Blu-Ray release August 13.
Famous Thief Steals Silver Screen Again
The publication Tokyo Sports has announced the creation of a new live action Lupin III film in the tentative future. Considered for roles are Shun Oguri as Arséne Lupin III, Sho Sakurai as Daisuke Jigen, and Satoshi Tsumabuki as Geomon Ishikawa XIII. Possible Fujiko candidates include Mirei Kiritani, Masami Nagasawa, and Airi Taira. Link
Lupin/Conan Rematch Given Date
In other Lupin III film news, the Lupin III/Detective Conan crossover film has been given an official date of December 7, alongside the reveal of the first theatrical poster. Link
The Tail Continues
Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima promises "good news" about the series' future (it ended last March). According to his Twitter account, said news will drop on July 4. Link
There’s A First Time For Everyone
Studio Trigger will be sending their first major project Little Witch Academia stateside this summer, courtesy of distribution company acttil. This will also be acttil’s first title since being formed in May. The Blu-Ray comes with a 66 minutes documentary and will debut at Anime Expo. Link
Russia Bans All The “Hentai”
According to the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, thirteen anime episodes published on the social network Vkontakte have been removed due to “pornographic” material. This has led to the calling upon for the removal of all anime that sexualizes children. Link
E3 Figures In, E3 2014 Announced
The organizers for the Electronic Entertainment Expo, held on June 11-13 2013 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, has announced they drew a crowd of nearly 48,200 attendees. Next years will be held June 10-12 at the same location. Link
