Mangaka Reiji Matsumoto (Galaxy Express 999) has been ordered to pay ¥2.2 million in compensation to singer-songwriter Noriyuki Makihara for defamation of character. Seems Matsumoto publicly accused Makihara of using some lines from the series without permission, but a judge ruled the lines aren't similar enough to warrant the allegation.
