Shichigahamamachi, a small seaside town in the Miyagi Prefecture of Japan, has recently become an otaku tourist attraction as a result of the popularity of the 2008 Japanese anime series "Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens", which is believed to be set in the said town. The most popular spot for the fans is the Hanabushi Shrine, which they believe is the model for a shrine in the anime dedicated to Nagi, the deity who serves as the main character of the series.
