SciFi: Too sexy for spellcheck, apparently
Starting July 7, SciFi is going to change its name to SyFy, marking what is supposed to be a new era for the channel. This move has been noted as being the jump-off point for showing less hardcore science fiction shows/movies and being able to legitimately show more mainstream programming without the sci-fi connotations. They'll keep the scifi stuff that made them who they are, though... but for how long? Source Link
