Arumat P. Thanatos, the resident “hawt” badass of Star Ocean: The Last Hope! All those muscles, scars, and his scythe aren’t for show either; he’s so incredibly powerful once he’s over level 80, it’s kinda scary. XD

I made this wallpaper but since the central picture’s quality is just a bit suspect and nothing else really worked, I decided to add a quote. It’s from an excellent song by Maaya Sakamoto titled, “Hemisphere.” The lyrics are © to her, as is the translation, for it’s the official translation from the US lyric booklet.

The etymology behind his name is pretty awesome, too. XD “Thanatos” means “death” in Greek (though that’s pretty common knowledge…) and “Arumat” is an anagram of “trauma,” which has a Greek root meaning “wound.” I brainstorm for hours for character names and they get a better one by scrambling the spelling of an everyday word. XD
