This is my submission for the challenge Who’s got death.
Why Sayu? In the manga and anime, she was portrayed as innocent and a little naïve… but so was Light at the beginning. So I thought, she would have been capable of becoming Kira too. Being naïve, she might have decided to change the world using the death note too. And being the daughter of the same parents as Light, she had the chance to be just as smart as Light and had the chance to use the police using her father the way Light did. She and Ryuk would have gotten along together well because they both seem to like being entertained. She might have even gotten along with L because they’re both what L describes as “childish”. And besides, with such a cute face, who would ever suspect she was Kira in the first place? She might have even gotten away with being Kira. Who knows? Maybe she knew Light was Kira. There was always the chance that she saw the death note in Light’s room. And Ryuk protects his client’s info so he wouldn’t simply tell Light that Sayu knew. Wouldn’t it be interesting to read a sequel where she tries to investigate her brother’s and father’s deaths? Nevermind that she’s in a wheelchair towards the end of the series; that just makes her seem less suspicious. (Ever notice that in mysteries, the person in the wheelchair is usually the culprit? Like in the manga Doubt or this movie that‘s not a mystery called Lucky Number Se7ven?) Then she, as Kira’s successor, could go up against L’s successor, Near. I’d like to see that. >:D
