Klan's Story Part 1

I wrote it because moonlit dream asked for it. I still don't really like it, but hey, it's more for practice~! :D

There might be some spelling mistakes or word choice errors....buuuttt...the word processing software I'm using said there weren't any spelling/grammar errors and I can't proofread very well (I skip over errors accidentally...'orz) so if there are any problems...yeah...there might be~! :D

This is narrated by Reese who is not a reliable narrator! :D

Klan's Story Part 1:

“Excuse me, sir?” words almost inaudible.
“E-excuse me, sir!” repeated the shy woman who looked more like a professional business woman than her weak voice suggested. Despite her hushed cry the man she beckoned turned around, glancing at her build with his curious brown eye.
“What's the problem, miss?” his playful voice responded.
“I'm sorry to disturb you,” she began. He shook his head cheerfully in response to her apology.
“I saw you from afar and you are quite strikingly beautiful,” the woman excitedly explained. Her statement was quite justified. Anyone would find his androgynous nature attractive, or at least eye catching. His maroon hair was unnatural as was his incredibly pale skin. Though it was not obvious due to his hair covering his right eye, but he was naturally hetero-chromatic, probably one of this only things natural about him, yet that still did not suffice in a world of non-hetero-chromatic people. His fashion sense was not particularly odd, but often sought for. When it came to style and appeal he had it even if he still looked a tad unusual. Walking through the mall every day and night he received hundreds upon thousands of endless stares, but they did not bother him, he liked the attention. Comments such as this lady's were a regular discussion and what followed was inevitable.
“Would you mind, um, if I treated you to some coffee?” she asked, trying to summon up whatever courage she had. He's a strange man, but he won't eat you, silly lady.
“Of course, I was feeling thirsty anyway!” he replied with the most gentle smile. He was so used to being asked out for meals daily that he never spent a dime on food, he just waited for the next woman to ask to treat him to a meal.
They found a nice cafe in the colossal mall to spend their time chatting, because that's all the women ever really wanted. Well, talking and sex, which he was also very experienced at.
This man is Klan, the most famous resident of this mall. His sisters own the most popular clothing and tailoring stores in the mall. This mall that I've been talking about sounds pretty ridiculous, doesn't it? It is. It is so ridiculous how they wasted so much of the tax-payers money on even greater consumerism. Now people are capable of living in the mall which has hundreds of restaurants and stores, even an amusement park, arcades, garages, you name it, it has it.
At first the government just wanted to get in a lot of tourism and make the largest mall in the world, which is a sorry excuse to waste it's people's money, but then they realized that the mall was so huge that people would spend days just looking through every floor. It would be too expensive for the consumer to buy the products in the mall and have a hotel to drive all the way back and forth, so they just put hotels in the mall. The second problem they found was that the thousands of people that work at the mall, keeping it alive, used up all the parking spaces so nobody could shop. They then decided to make the supposed hotels into apartments and now the workers live there, including Klan and his family of sisters.
Why is Klan famous, though? It's not his appearance or his superior intellect (I will get to that point later), but his friendliness, love for the fellow man, in simple terms he is mysterious. He seems oddly magical, unnatural, his overall aura is a magnet for rumors. There are rumors that he is some sort of super hero, or alien from another planet, or actually ghost or some sort of supernatural creature. The more realistic rumors are that he is the leader of a secret gang in the mall, or that he is actually a famous criminal who went over a load of surgeries and that's why he looks so weird, or that he just the son of an incredibly rich man and owns the mall. Whatever it is, it's clear that people know him enough to make up hundreds of stupid rumors. What everyone knows is that he knows everything about the mall, everything about the people who work in the mall, and what I find is the most credible rumor: he knows everyone's secrets.
It's very obvious that I am no fan of this mall, so how do I know so much about Klan? I am actually a very close friend of Klan doubled with a secret admirer. Before I met Klan there was no way I would even touch this mall, but this isn't a story about me. This is a story that answers the questions that so many petty customers of the mall wonder: Who, or what is Klan?
To begin this story we return to the office lady from before. She has her typical talk over coffee about, well, I'm not quite sure, I don't really care what kinds of conversations other people have with Klan. All you need to know is that they met for coffee and this annoying bitch wouldn't leave the guy alone for months afterward, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Everybody can fall for Klan, this woman is nothing special, so she inevitably does. Ever since that first meeting with coffee on, I think it was Wednesday and it was raining a little bit, everyday she would ask to meet with Klan. Klan, being the kind and generous young gentleman that he was would always accept. Inevitably this led to them acquiring a closer relationship. Sickening, I know, but that's what happened. I won't say what they called this relationship, but you can assume that seeing each other everyday means this sort of relationship. I don't want to say it, not when it involves Klan, it just makes me sick to my stomach, it so bitter falling off my tongue. It did happen, though, at least, that's what they said.
“Klannie! Let's go to the amusement park today!” the office lady who was now louder and less professional declared as she hung on his arm.
“Okay, I'll try and win that teddy bear for you this time,” Klan laughed his usual charming laugh.
She snuggled up closer to him as the went on the Ferris wheel. Through the windows there wasn't really much to see, just the rest of the mall. You could probably wave to your friends if they were walking around on one of the higher floors.
“Klan, we've been dating for a while now, haven't we?” she said, her head leaning on his shoulder.
“Yeah, I really like being with you, I didn't think I could tie myself down with any girl.”
“I guess that makes me special, doesn't it?” she stuck her tongue out, trying to act cute.
“Yeah, you are very special to me,” Klan looked at her seriously.
“Oh, Klannie, you're making me blush!”
“It's the truth, you're very important to me.”
“Klannie...I-I think I love you.”
“I love you, too,” Klan responded. They continued the conversation with a deep kiss. Spectators were cheering for the two. Yes, I said it, spectators. Everybody saw it. I wasn't there, thankfully, this was before Klan and I met.
“Most couples say this and then the next thing they talk about is marriage,” the woman mentioned jokingly.
“That's right, then let's do it,” Klan replied in an excited tone.
“Y-you really mean it?”
“Yeah, sure, why not?”
“If you're going to ask me that, take it seriously! Even if you are I can't do it with you.”
“Huh? But I thought we said we loved each other, isn't that enough?”
“But there's so much about you I don't know yet. You told me I'm special, but I don't feel special,” her eyes welled up with tears.
“You are special to me!”
“If I was then how come I still don't really know you! You never shared any of your secrets me, when I've told you all of mine!”
“I don't really have any interesting secrets,” Klan smiled sincerely trying to avoid the question while stop her from crying at the same time.
“That's a lie and you know it!” she buried her face into his chest and started wailing. Her snot got all over Klan's leopard print shirt.
“You're right. You're right and you deserve to know,” Klan declared and lifted her head. “I'll tell you, but in a more secretive place.”
This is all that was heard or deciphered from the spectators. What happened next I can only assume Klan showed her a passage to get to this secret place. This secret place coincidentally is where I met Klan. Maybe I should rephrase that. This was the place where I first saw Klan.
“Where are you taking me! How far away is your secret place?” the women giggled as Klan led her with his arm tight around her small wrist.
“Not much farther! This place is really important to me, it's where I can really be me,” Klan said blissfully. Klan was taking what he said to be precious female companion for life to a place important to his heart.
By this time they were off the side of the interstate highway. The stars in the sky were faded from the lights of the city. There was a mask of trees on the side that they were on, but they were close enough to the road that I could see them. I had just recently ran away from the demonic boarding school my parental guardians forced me into when I noticed the two, Klan's white skin glowing in the moonlight.
Klan walked a little further and then stopped. The traffic was non-existent by this time of night. Everyone who drove past focused on the road. Besides myself, there were no witnesses.
“What is this, the highway?” the woman wondered.
“Yep, the highway. I can always come here and be myself. It's pretty empty, isn't it? There are a lot of cars that drive past, but they aren't supposed to pull over or in involve themselves in my problems or else they'll cause traffic. Unlike in the mall, I'm ignored here,” Klan explained.
“Ah, that's beautiful. I never thought of highways like this. You truly are an enchanting individual,” she sighed, caught up in Klan's divisive rantings.
Klan's face contorted in to a great smile, showing his fangs.
“Cut the act, miss,” he laughed.
“What act?”
“Are you stupid enough to believe I would drag you out here and then have a romantic little confession of all my petty problems and 'secrets'?” Klan tilted his head victoriously.
“I don't understand what you're talking about Klannie!” she looked worried, a perfect example of overreacting that Klan expertly pinpointed.
“I don't know who this office lady fiance I have is, but I know who you are, and you aren't her.”
“Then who am I? There's no way I could magically turn into somebody else!” her frustration began to show as she knew her facade was broken.
“Let me rephrase this. You are the same person, but you're obviously not an office lady, nor would I ever make you my fiance, seriously. Heh! You're so pitiful, an officer going under cover for what? I'm an innocent guy, why is a spy hunting me down?”
“Impressive, you caught me. What gave it away?” she said, casually reaching for her gun that was hidden between her legs.
“What didn't give you away? You are an amateur at this, aren't you? Actually, I wonder if this is even your job. You probably had something like your husband disappear or die or something, probably suicide, isn't it? But you knew it wasn't suicide so you to avenge his death you decided to go under cover yourself to confront your husband's murderer, did I guess correctly?” Klan chuckled.
“He wasn't my husband, he was my lover!” she aimed the gun at Klan's head. “He...he was married and I had an affair with him, I was disgusted with myself. I felt like I did this to him. I'm not avenging his death, I'm doing my job!”
“Ah, adultery is not a good thing, madam! Didn't they teach you that in school? And this is actually your job? Wow! You're not a very good example for the rest of whatever your organization is.” Klan shrugged. “Oh, and guns are illegal in Japan, miss!”
“Shut up! You monster! YOU MURDERER!”
“Eh? Murderer? I'm sorry ma'am, but you've got the wrong person. I didn't kill whoever you're talking about.”
“What? You've got to be kidding me! Didn't you just confess a moment ago?”
“Haha! What? I mean, I don't kill anyone, they just kill themselves. I don't consider that the murder you're thinking of.”
“If you made them kill themselves that's still murder!!” she yelled, her mind looked like it was about to explode. Obviously they weren't on the same page.
“True, and if I did any of that then I'm guilty, but is there any evidence of my guilt?”
“Yes! There has been a chain of suicides all the victims of which have been acquaintances of yours.”
“That's it?”
“Y-yes. QUIT PLAYING WITH ME!”
“I'm sorry, ma'am, but you can't go to court with that kind of evidence,” Klan stuck out his tongue, being delightfully adorable.
“I'm not going to take you to court, I'm going to kill you here and now.”
“Then why don't you? See, it's people like you that get on my nerves. If you say you're going to do something then just do it.”
She hesitated a bit when he said this statement, but she disregarded her own emotions and put her finger on the trigger ready to shoot when something overcame her. She just stared into space for a while. Her eyes shook as if she was in the REM state of dreaming, but with her eyes open. Tears streamed out of her eyes.
“Oh, by the way, I kinda tell everybody this, it's become a routine. I feel like you deserve to know what's going on right now, even if you aren't paying attention. I don't know if you've heard, but your brain waves usually surge right before death. That's what you're experiencing right now. Weird isn't it, since you're not about to die, right? Actually you are! There's this thing I had in my hand, hold on, lemme get it,” Klan pulled a strange device out of his pocket. “When I held your hand taking you up here I sent bunches of little signals to your brain which, lemme say this simply, you're basically my puppet right now. See, if you look at the screen, yeah, it's a bit like an iphone, isn't it? Anyway, I had it set so that your body functioned normally and you were completely conscious. Now I've switched it to a state of brain wave overload. I didn't want you to actually get away with shooting me. Nah, guns are illegal, they shouldn't be fired. I should die at the hands of one, so I'm not gonna let that happen.” Klan winked. Perhaps he thought the wink was in vain, but he had me mesmerized.
“The great thing about this brain wave surge is that now I can actually make you do stuff. I just speak into this microphone here--”
“--icrophone here--” the woman responded.
“Hah! Like a telephone! I can also put this headphone plug into my ear and I can actually hear your thoughts, how creepy, right? I only do that on the really hard to crack guys, but you were so easy I didn't have to do anything. To tell you the truth I don't know exactly how it can do all this stuff, but, hey, it works, doesn't it? I like to think it as weaving. You know the string theory, right? It's like I'm weaving a new consciousness for you.” He looked at her face a sighed.
“Oh, boo, you didn't listen to a single thing I said. Well, today, since we're on a highway, why not just go lie there. It'll be your final bed. Not that comfy, but death isn't a comfy thing.” Klan said as he tapped the screen on the strange device.
She dropped her gun and walked awkwardly to the middle of the road. Her movements were very unnatural. I don't know what it looked like to someone who didn't know what was going on, but it definitely look like she was being controlled by somebody. It was a crude way of moving, heavy and not a bit elegant. She dropped to the ground, as opposed to lying down.
“Nighty night,” Klan waved her goodbye and casually walked down the hill. I kept myself hidden in the trees. He came close enough to me for me to make out the entirety of his features. His heavy amount of make-up was not detracting from his overall beauty. He had a line of eyeliner coming out of his one blue eye that made it look as if his cheek was slit. Such an interesting design, it was odd to me that he would cover that side of his face if he was going to put make-up on it, but I've learned not to question Klan.

I dislike this mainly because Klan's little device is just magical and logically makes absolutely no sense...'orz But heyyy, that's all I can think of...'orz

Also this is part one because the next part I want to talk about Reese and Klan's relationship~! >:3
