Clearing the Air [appended]

It seems I upset people with some of my statements in this post. It was never my intention to hurt anyone, and if you take nothing else from the post, please let it be that I care about you guys, so I just want you to be careful.

It wasn't easy for me to bring up this subject, so thank you for your respect and civility in discussing it. Take care!

I've been asked/seeing people ask this question for a while now. I've also had a few commissions/requests that I declined because of this. So, in lieu of one of my sporadic life updates, I want to address it here:

Why won't you draw yaoi/yuri/BL/GL? Or, alternately, why don't you allow it in your challenges?

First, you'll notice that I don't have any sexually-themed artwork in my gallery.

Second, I don't support the LGBT lifestyle. Does that mean that I hate those people? No. I show them the same courtesy I would show anyone else. But the human body is not designed to work that way. If you use anything in a way it isn't designed for, it can harm you or someone else. So, I disagree with their lifestyle choice because I know it's going to hurt them eventually. I'm going to use smoking as a comparison. I'm asthmatic, and cigarette smoke bothers me. But I know people who smoke, and because I care about them and their families, I wish that they would stop smoking.

However, I respect that what they do is their choice. Along the same lines, I appreciate the right to my view, and I don't like that portions of the media (anime and manga included) are taking these alternative lifestyles and trying to push them on viewers/readers. So, I don't watch or read anything that promotes them.

I sincerely hope this doesn't come across as confrontational because that is not my intention at all. Hopefully, this offers a different perspective that, maybe, you haven't considered before.

Thanks for reading!
