Isn't it odd how "word" and "world" only differ by one letter? I think it's because you can make worlds with words. As in, literally.

A ramble on the Medicine Seller.

He is like the moon, his other like the sun. The purpose they follow is endless, therefor they must be as well.
He but the reflection of his other, the moon to the sun.
The markings on their faces grow and fade as they switch places.
The sword is the bridge between them, like the earth between the sun and moon.
They, and their world, have a sort of terrifying beauty. I want to touch it, and them, but I am afraid that I'll burn, or be poisoned, or dissolve all together. Alluring, dangerous.
He loves to confuse, and perhaps scare, others. It is, I think, his hobby as he hunts his prey, something to amuse himself.
Perhaps, some say, he to is a mononoke. I do not know if that is true, or even completely valid. But it is an interesting notion.

I found this somehow...

and found it awesome and funny. Watch it!

Olympics, yay.

The opening ceremonies were amazing. In several words: wow, pretty, impressive, artistic. I was surprised when the printing blocks opened up to people. I had thought that they were hydraulic(sp?)!
Other than that, mom is making pickles, which makes the house smell all weird. I don't really like that.
I went shopping yesterday. Didn't get any shirts, which is what we actually went for, but I did get a bunch of new books, and that makes me happy. I'm gonna shop for shirts online.

Mononoke licensed?! By who? Since when?

My favorite artsy-anime-that-is-often-confused-with-a-Gibli-movie that I mentioned last post has been licensed. I found that out at break today. My first reaction, after the extreme elation I felt o'course, was "By who?" I've looked around since then, and can't find who. Frustrating...

Ramble.

Is this how the world ends?
Is this how the world ends?
Is this how the world ends?
Not in a bang, but a whimper?

At least, that's what that one old poem says. Also, that one fire and ice thing by Robert Frost... Can't remember it though. But I've been saying that to myself for a few days at work, singing it under my breath. Can't put it to a solid tune though.
We've got mice in the attic. I can hear them from where I sit at the upstairs computer. I have faith that our cats will catch them though, when the mice come down that is. No one goes in our attic with much frequency.
So yeah, Kino's Journey. Love that series. It's what's got me on this introspective mood, just looking at Kino's Journey wallpapers. The stories are sadly beautiful. I fully recommend that anime, as well as Mushishi, which has a similar feel. Heck, so does Mononoke, to an extent. (Note: I don't mean Princess Mononoke, or Mononoke Hime. Mononoke is a completely different thing.) They're all beautiful series. I truly admire the main characters. Kino-chan is awesome and I truly look up to her. (No, Kino is not a boy, as some may assume from her tomboy clothes and attitude.) Ginko of Mushishi is attractive in a strong quiet way, and tries to handle things with a minimum of death and harm, which I admire. The medicine seller of Mononoke is extremely hot and sexy, as well as smart and powerful. He is someone I'd fawn over if I ever saw him. He is so awesome, he doesn't even need a proper name, he's just known as The(capitalized on purpose) medicine seller.
I love introspective episodic series like those. Plus, the are of Mononoke is truly beautiful. Like it was beat with the pretty stick, over and over again. Y'know, the pretty stick as opposed to the ugly stick?

See you when I see you.
