I came out of the kitchen after being...well KICKED out. I just wanted a little snack...I thought it would take the edge off the mood I was in. But that chick in there was something else...I eyed Britton.
"What?"
"Just where do you FIND these women...they're brutal even for humans. That lady in there almost STABBED me!" I protested.
He laughed at me. "Ah, Mami. Yeah, she's pretty strict about her kitchen duties. Just be thankful you don't have to work with her...Ai will." He snickered. "Where do I find them...how do I answer that gingerly?"
I gave him a questioning expression. He suddenly sounded...serious.
"Okay...well Mami there for instance. I found her on the streets. She was just sitting out there...waiting to die. Apparently she refused to work in any of the places in lower-town, and they wouldn't hire her anyway, because of her impudent attitude. She refused to STOOP to their standards. But Mina...Mina is the one I worry about." He paused.
"Mina...that little one from this morning?"
"Yeah...you see Rouen..." Walking closer to me, he hushed his voice down severely. "She was severely abused by her family. Mentally by her mother, and...well I'll just say 'physically' by her father. Though it was much more than that...the poor girl...she had such an intense fear of men...she would scream at the delivery boys coming in here."
"How the hell did YOU tame her? She just seemed like she was shy..."
"It wasn't easy. I had found her completely by accident...almost killed her father when I heard him hit her. I got arrested, but the next day I was released. The guy threatened me. Told me he'd let me go that time, but if I meddled in his business again, then he'd kill me." He snickered. "As if that could scare ME away. I put the pressure on...found some incriminating things about him out...then used them to blackmail them into giving Mina up. After I had one of the girls take her safely out of there...well...nothing, forget that last part."
Narrowing my eyes, I could see just what he'd done. He didn't have to tell me...it was in his expression. And he didn't regret it a bit. "You do realize...you stole that girl from her family..."
"Oh really Rouen? You want to know what they did when I presented the evidence I found to them? They BEGGED me to take her. If they really cared, like you think...they would've done anything to keep her. If they cared, they wouldn't have done what they did to her. No, they deserved it. Those twisted bastards." Britton spoke in disgust. "And you would've done the same as me. Hah, probably worse."
It was quiet a moment, and then Britton started to walk off. "Where're you going?"
"Oh relax, I'm just gonna have a smoke...and maybe see how the kid is doin." He smirked. "I don't need him wrecking the place. AND...I want those floors spotless."
"You're a cruel B*****d..."
"You know it!" He laughed, throwing a wave over his shoulder as he walked down the hall.
I took a seat on the couch, looking over, I saw Andrei flipping through a booklet. Nao must've been up in her room...Johnny and Ai were working...Rune, went out for a walk. And where the hell were Saber and Ame? I sighed. "Damn...I'm so bored..." I muttered.
"Read a book." Andrei suggested, tossing me a magazine.
I looked down at it with disgust, and tossed it to the side. "Nah...I hate reading..." I smirked. "And don't say to just look at the pictures...I could care less for those too..." Getting up, I stalked up the stairs towards one of the rooms. I felt a bit tired and thought I might as well lay down. After all, we'd probably be staying here for awhile. I reached the door, and stopped after being beckoned by someone down the hall.
"Master Rouen, would you like us to keep you company?" Three of the ladies asked.
I looked them over with a smile. "Hah...sure." They all squealed in approval. "That is...if you're all planning to SLEEP. On second thought, I hate distractions while I'm trying to rest...Sorry." I walked in and closed the door behind me.
I KNOW I fell asleep as soon as I hit the floor. But it didn't last long. "Master Rouen...you have visitors..." A voice beckoned outside the door.
"Yeah Yeah..." I spoke sitting up and scratching my head. "This had better be good..." I mumbled on the way down the stairs. My nose caught their scent at the same time as my eye. AUTUMN...and that Female from before. Raising an eyebrow, I walked forward calmly, though my guard was completely up. "Bout time you found the damn place. What, you get lost?"
"Shut up Rouen. You know I'm not here for chit chat." Autumn spoke, her tone filled to the brim with sarcasm.
I rubbed the back of my head. "Yeah yeah yeah, I could've guessed that myself, thank you." Looking around vaguely, I noted that Andrei was gone. Still no sign of Saber OR Ame, and Rune was still out too... Nao was glaring at Autumn and Johnny entered the room. He was watching intently. I glared at him, warning him not to interfere and cause a ruckus. "Just who the h*ll are you?" I spoke, my eye now firmly fixed on that other female.
"Name's Lyall."
I rolled my eye. "Maybe I worded that wrong. Who the H*LL are you, and just what business do you have here?" I spoke firmly.
I didn't get to hear a response. "What the h*ll are you doing?!" Britton shouted as he entered. "THIS is NOT the PARTY ROOM! If you want to have a bloody meeting, do it somewhere where you aren't obstructing BUSINESS! AND YOU!" He pointed at Johnny. "What are you wearing? JEANS....a T-Shirt? Get your a$$ dressed in the uniform I had sent to your room! The clients will be arriving any minute now! Did you FORGET, you are to escort them to their designated rooms? The list is over there, it's simple. You take their name, ask them to wait and get them some tea while they do so and their room is prepared. THEN, you humbly escort them to the room, and time them accordingly!"
"Relax..."
"NO! I will NOT relax! I have to earn money around here just like everyone else Rouen! Or do you think your rooms and food all came free cause I'm such a good looking man?" He lectured me. I winced a bit...he reminded me of someone....our...dad... O_X'
"Fine wh-"
"Third door to the right down that hall. Empty meeting room. And so help me God...if I hear things breaking in there...I'm going to break YOU Rouen...." He ordered us off and grabbed Johnny. Explaining a couple more things to him before sending him up to his room to change.
"I'd like to see you try..." I mumbled slightly wounded. I sighed. "This way ladies. I guess we can talk in there...but honestly...if you came here to fight then just leave. I really CAN'T right now..." I sweat-dropped as I walked down the hall and entered the room. Sitting down, I waited for them to follow.

When i finished throwing coal Jin came and tapped me on teh back."your done", he said. I grabbed my jacket and walked out. I went up the stairs and into the the hall heading toward the lobby. I heard someone yell for Rouen. I walked into and first saw Rune. He glanced up at me and and I said,"my shift is finally over". HE looked away and chuckled. I looked back up and a group was standing infront of the door. I made eye contact with a girl in the front. "YOU!", I SHOUTED AND POINTED. She snickered and said,"what you want a round 2?" I chuckled back. "no i think Rouen is going to help me", i replied. I walked off heading to my room. I need a shower. I was sweaty and covered in soot and oil and alittle tar. I thru my jacket on the bed and immedaitly stepped into the shower. after 20 minutes i got out and toweled off. It was late so i just put on a pair of jean shorts and a white t-shirt. I walked back down stairs rubbing my hair with a towel. I wabted to see Rouen and the girl clash.

I looked up. So this is where Rouen is living at the moment. I shrugged and walked up to the place and glanced back at my pack, "No fighting remember." I growled sternly.
The nodded and followed me in. A woman greeted us and asked if I would be staying for the night. "No actually." I said politely. "I was looking for a...friend...He should be staying here. Rouen."
She hesitated but then nodded. "Please stay here well I get him." She called over her shoulder hurrying off.
"What are YOU doing here." Someone growled behind me. Turning I saw the kid that was going to try to fight Khan. "What? No thankyou for saving your life?" I asked sarcastically.
She just glared at me. "Nao right?" I repeated the name Rouen had said. "I'm glad your OK." She narrowed her eyes but turned away mumbling something.
Sighing I waited for Rouen.

When i got back in Mina was standing by the door. I ignored her and started to clean the celing. I made sure i got all the little cobwebs and shoved the cloth into every little crack. "Its a good thing this brush is so long." Even with it i was still standing on my tippy toes to reach the celing. Mina just watched. After i was finally done with it i wiped the sweat that was building up on my brow. Why did it have to be so hot in here? I pulled my shirt off, but then jumped! Mina was right behind me. I hadnt even heard her come over. "Good job Ai!" She was actually smiling at me. I tried to smile back, but decided it was better not to. I didnt want to scare her again. "Yeah, but i guess the walls are next right?" She nodded. I looked down at the bucket. "Ill go get more water." She followed me outside this time. While i was pumping the water out she watched me. When i carried the bucket back in she was right up my butt. I rolled my eyes. "You know, you dont have to constantly be up my *ss." Her face went bright red. "IM SO SORRY!!!" I sighed. "Why do you do that?" She looked up at me. "What?" I shook my head. "Nevermind." And started to wipe the walls down. This didnt take as much time as the celing had. Then it was time for the floors. I had never done floors before. Mina showed me how i was supposed to do it. I tried, and found it was harder than i thought. I had to run across the floor,my butt in the air, with a cloth. It took me an hour to get the first room done. I was panting by that time. Mina was looking the floor over. She shook her head. "Its ok, but Master Britton will want better." I narrowed my eyes and she flinched. "Britton can kiss my *ss! Ive never done floors before! Heck ive never really cleaned anything before! Your lucky i knew how to do the celing and the walls!" She started to cry again and i realized my error. I put my head in my hand. " Stop. Stop cryin already!" That shut her up. "Look, im sorry. Im not angry at you...i..i just cant control my temper. Its the whole reason im in this mess." She inched over and sat down next to me on the floor. "No, it was my fault. I shouldnt have climbed onto your bed." I looked at her. "No, i shouldnt have lost my temper. You were just doing your job. I was just in a bad mood and i kinda had a hangover." She laughed. "That would explain a lot!" I smiled. "Yeah, im never going to try to get back at anyone with drinking again." She stopped. "You mean that man with the purple eyes?" I nodded. "Is he your....." "Lover?" Her eyes widened. "Yeah. He is." She nodded, but her eyes seemed sad. I understood. "Well i guess i better finish up. I still have to help with dinner later."

When i finished i looked down at my hands. They were bloody, and worn. My back hurt from being hunched over for so long. I was just in time to head down to the kitchen. When i got down there i ran my hands under some cold water. "Sore are we sunshine?" I turned to see Britton. He walked over and grabbed my hand. "Hmmmm not too bad. I hope you bandage them up before you go touching our food." My eyes narrowed. He started to walk away. "Mina told me you were nice to her. You should know that i appreciate it. That girl has been through h*ll." I looked down at the floor. "I guess nobody would know that better than us huh kid?" My eyes widened. When i looked up he was gone. I heard him yell from down the hall though. "OH, AND THE FLOORS BETTER BE BETTER THAN THAT IF YOU EXPECT TO PAY ME BACK!"
~whew! That was a good post! ^^ I feel good now. Hehe any way i hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving!
