12,000 years after the fall of Atlandia, humans are living in, well, peace. Until, a shadow angel feather is found. This feather, after being studied, undergoes cloning expirements. It is cloned, and cloned, and cloned, hundreds of times; bringing shadow angels into the world.

Bros before Holes!

Lyric-

Perfect. I stared into the pool of water under me, smiling at what I saw. The wngless ones have a resistance now, huh. I’m sure they’ll be fun to slaughter.
I trailed my hand along the surface of the water, closing my eyes as the musical tones rose up from the liquid. I felt the cool, sweet breeze run through the temple, ruffling the feathers on my wing. Such a beatiful place, Atlandia. It must have been even more so before the war, Before….

Damn that wingless scum!

A booming sound clanged out of the pool as I slammed my fist into the water. Despite that, the water remained as smooth as ever, with no sign I had disrupted it.
That was the “magic” of Atlandia. Like myself, this temple had risen from the feathers of our ancestors. 12,000 years ago, they sacrificed themselves to the Tree of Life. Their feathers had since created a place worthy of a thousand praises, one that responded to me as my own feathers do.
I lightly tapped the tip of my wing, listening for the soft bell sound that tinged out. Another bell, deeper, went off in respone. I turned, smiling, as my brtoher entered the room.

“Lyric” His voice spoke inside my head.

“They’ve created an army already. Yet, they don’t know what they are up against.” I smirked, shaking my head. “The fools.”

“Now, now, don’t mock your food.” Liral smiled back.

“Liral, brother, I was thinking. What if one of us infiltrated the wingless filth?” He furrowed this eyebrows, and reach back to play with his wing tip, a sign that told me he was nervous.

“What would we do about these?”

“We could always cut yours off…” I smiled, making a chopping motion.

“Then we could just as easily cut off yours!” He threw back.

“Why sacrifice the best?”

“Exactly! That’s why we chop off your wing!” We glared at eachother for a moment, and then we both reached out and hugged.

“My dear sister, please come with me. Together we can do more than if we were apart.” He took my hands, and I looked up into his eyes, nodding.

“Yes, Liral, you’re right.” I traced the outline of his wing. “You should be able to control their thoughts, yes? Keep them from seeing our wings?”

“Yes, yes. Should we attack today?” he asked.

“It would be best.” Liral reached back and strummed his wing. A cheribum soldier rose straight out of the pool at my feet.

“Magnificent!” I circled the soldier, admiring his work. I stopped back in front of him, and frowned. “We’ll need to change our appearances.”
Liral nodded, and I eyed him. He would stand out horribly… With his floor length blue hair and drapey robes, he’d never make it out there.

And.. I thought, staring down into the pool, neither would I

I reached into the pool and grabbed a blade off of the stone bottom.

“Liral… I’m cutting off your hair.”

He sat in front of me as I sliced off his hair. I placed the cuts on the water, and let them drift away.

“There.” I affirmed, brushing out his now a-little-past-the-shoulders-length hair. He shook his head out.

“My head feels so light.” He glanced at his reflection. “How does it look?”

“The angels are weeping in admiration, my brother.” I brushed the remainder of the hair into the basin.

“Your turn Lyric.” He grabbed my floor-length hair in one hand, and swiftly cut it to my shoulders in one motion. He gently placed the hair into the pool, and we watched as the strands caught fire, as per my desire.

“Come, sister, let us pray that our mission shall be a success.”

------------------------------------------------------------------
After we prayed and sang, we left to find Angela, the only angel capable of getting us to the wingless ones. We also wanted to see her before we left. ALthough, we ran into an unpleasent surprise on our way...

“Oh. I see you’ve cut your hair. I personally thought it was better hiding your horrible faces.”

“Hello Loki.” I sighed. “Is Angela here?”

“No, no.” Loki pranced around the room, and collapsed into a pillar. “I have not seen her, as I am quite fatigued. I have not left this room yet today, oh!” He put his hand to his forehead.

“Leaving.” Liral said, turning and walking out of the room. I quickly followed suit.
We finally found Angela strolling down the front path, softly singing to herself. Against the sun, our fellow shadow angel was beautiful. She has been with us when we found Atlandia; the three of us innocent and clueless. We three had become close in those first few years, so close that Angela was treated as another sibling.
As we drew closer, I recognized the tune she was singing. I joined in, although my voice was completely unlike what an angel’s was supposed to. So I sang in my kinda terrible nasal timbre, while next to me, Liral sang in his amazing voice. I trailed off, allowing the sound of Angela and Liral’s singing to fill the area. It was beatiful.

After a little, Angela spoke softly, “You’ve changed yourselves.”

We did, my dear.” Liral answered, “We will be heading to earth, and we needed to blend in.”

“Heading to earth?” she slowly turned around to face us, “You’ll be needing my help, yes?”

“We will, if that will be alright.”

“Of course, I’d do anything to help you two.” She smiled up at us, and we touched her wings as a sign of affection.

“Thank you, Angela. May the angels forever sing your praises.”

“Will you two be leaving now?”

“Not quite,” I shook my robes, “We need to find clothing like the wingless ones.”
“Oh!” She jumped up and down, “Let’s ask Loki! He should know about their clothing!”

We agreed, although reluctantly, and ended up back in the room with him. This time, we had Angela with us though, which made it better.

“Loki, can we ask your help?”

“What is it? Can’t you allow me to relax in peace, instead of constantly badgering me the way you do? Can’t an angel get any damn beauty sleep around here?” He accompanied this rant with an appropriate amount of flailing.

I looked at Liral and Angela. can we go please! I saw the look on her face change, and I knew Loki would obey us. No matter what happened, I could never get too angry at another angel, Angela, however…

“Look here, you spawn of wingless filth. How ever the hell you think you can get off acting so high and mighty I don’t give a shit. But unless you want to have that pretty little face smeared all over the tmple wall, you’ll help these two. Or so help me I’ll ruin you so bad, even the pool couldn’t making you pretty!”

And it was pretty much a done deal from there.

“Are you sure this is what those fools are wearing?”

“Completely sure.’

I twirled around to get a good look at myself. I was in a… who knows what. It had a skirt that went down to the floor, a tight shirt that laced up the back, and a jacket. It was ruffly and had chains all over it. I felt almost too weighted down, compared to my usual clothing. I looked over at Liral, who turned out to be wearing pants, a jacket with tails coming off of it, and an unusually tall head covering. Loki also handed him a stick with a bird carved into it.

“There, you look only slightly terrible now.” He nodded in approval. “If I find out you ruined these clothes though…”

The rest of our mission went surprisingly well, ending with us in the giant metal hands of the enemy. Success.

Aizis~

"Vector Zeta, checking in." I said as soon as I got control over the steering- and the me also.

"Awesome job Aizis!" Alek's voice filled the cabin. The camera's were activated, but I chose not to look at them. Maybe they wouldn't notice how deathly afraid I was.

"Yeah! We can hardly notice you shaking!" Caleb said sarcastically. Damn. "can we just get on with the mission?"

"yeah, sorry Cal-chan!" Alek snorted, and I glanced up to find a pretty pissed off Caleb glaring at me.

"C-C-Cal-chan?!" he stammered. I laughed, ignoring him. He'd grow to love it.

"Guys, focus!" Serena's voice came through from HQ, "There's Shadow Angel energy coming from the east, about 3 miles."

"Big?" I asked, getting pretty excited at this point. My first ass-kicking!

"Decent, and there's only one. It's moving pretty slowly, but it's about 4 miles away now."

"okay." Alek replyed, checked over his equipment, "What do you think Cal-chan, should we merge?"

"Hey Alek... Ever wondered what it was like to get stepped on by a large metal robot?"

"not in particular, no..."

"Keep up the nicknames and you'll find out, you bastard." he glared at Alek for a few seconds, before he said, "I think merging now would be good."

"Izu-chan, levels?" we'd gone over this so much in training, this part felt second nature. Now the actual merging...

"1st to 3rd merge level potentials are good.. Emotional levels are perfect. You're good to go!"

"okay. Alek, head." Caleb ordered. We all maneuvered into a triangle.

"you ready Aizis?"

"As I'll ever be." I responded.

"Alright. Merge one."

"Merge two!" I called, feeling, oddly, calm.

"Go, Aquarion!" Alek yelled. The vectors opened on the sides, and did this cool little connecting thing. I guess you could describe merging as losing your metaphorical personal space, sorta. It made you feel like you had no boundaries, and all three of the pilots were together. I'm not sure how exactly to describe it..

"Aquarion Alpha!"

After merging, the search for the... Whatever it was.. Went pretty quickly. Before I knew it, we were standing on a hill staring down at.... The fuck?

"Alek... What is that thing?"

"Cherubim soldier... Normally piloted by the shadow angels themselves." his voice sounded grim.

"uh...."

"Shit! Alek, I don't think we can beat this with a minor pilot." Cal said, basically staring me down.

"You guys okay?" Serena's voice came over the speakers.

"Serena.. I request a swap" Cal said.

"wait Cal...." Alek said calmly. "Aizis, do you think you can do this?" he turned to me.
It was weird. Our eyes locked, and suddenly I found myself in a different cabin, a different suit.

"Apollo..." I said, feeling increasingly confident every second.

"Sylvia.. Lets do this!" the now-red haired boy said. It was weird, I knew him, but at the same time I couldn't figure out why. Seriously, who was he?

"Aizis. Back to earth please." Cal-chan's sarcasm jerked me back to reality. I glanced at the screen, and Alek was there instead of that Apollo guy. Although, he looked a liiiiiiittle confused.

"Guys... I can do it." I said, smiling although my hands were still shaking. A lot.

"Really?" Cal looked doubtful. I nodded.

"I'm completely sure Cal-chan."

Alek nodded and said, "that's great Syl- Aizis!" I barely noticed the name slip, but in the back of my mind I still wondered why he'd almost called me that. Huh.

"Okay Aquarion, move out!" Serena's voice yelled over the speaker. I took one last deep breath and we trudged forward. It’s a lot harder to walk when you weigh thousands of pounds…

“There it is!” Alek shouted. I felt all too ready to throw up. I wonder if they’d kick me out if I peed myself in a vector…. “Caleb, take us in. Don’t worry about being noticed.”

“We’re not gonna ambush them?” Odd…

“They’ve gad more than enough time to tap into our waves. I’d be surprised if they didn’t know we we’re here already.”

Caleb got Aquarion moving, and we sprinted (…do robots sprint?) towards the noticeably larger and more threatening metal thing .

“Aizis..” Said an unfamiliar voice behind me. But for some reason, I swear I’ve heard it before…
I slowly turned in my seat, afraid of what I would find behind my chair. My eyes met the owner of the voice, and I gasped.

“S-Sylvia…?” How did I know? I’d never seen her before. But there in front of me was the blond-haired-blue-eyed woman I’d identified easily. “Um…. What are you doing here?” Shouldn’t you be.. oh I don’t know, DEAD

“Well, obviously you’re having a horrible time trying to get control of yourself, and I guess you called me trying to keep yourself and everyone else from dying.” She gestured to the screen, where I noticed that the other vectors had stopped moving.

“So.. you stopped time…?” She ignored the question, and instead adjusted my grip on the controls.

“Don’t grab so tight, the vector responds to your emotions, you know. If you’re too tense, it won’t respond the way it should.” She glanced on the screen and located the soldier in the distance. “You see that? There are actual shadow angels on board. This’ll be a tough one, im not gonna lie. But just focus, listen to your seniors.”

“Got it.”

“And relax. Greatness is in your blood you know!” She winked at me. How would she know anything about me?

“Just who are you, exactly?”

“That’s a story for another day, you’re a liiiittle preoccupied at the moment.” I then noticed Aquarion had started it’s movement again.

“Wait!” I yelled, looking around the cabin. She was still there, leaning into the wall. Not at all phased by the bumpy ride.

“You still need me?” She sighed. “You’ve got about three seconds until you’re in range. If Aquarion keeps moving, I want you to strike.”

“….. you want me to what?!”

“Target in range!” Alek’s voiced came over the speaker. Sylvia’s head jerked up, and she smiled.

“Ah, nice of you to show up!” She laughed for a moment, than grabbed my hand on the control. “Are you ready?”

“Yes.” And it was true. Having this strange person here in the cabin with me made me feel 50 times stronger. “Let’s do this.”

We pulled the right control back, and punched it forward at full force. I felt the giant metal hand of Aquarion connect with the thing now standing in front of us. It went flying a lot farther than I had expected, crashing into the ground about a hundred feet away.

‘Nice Aizis!” Caleb yelled. He. Complimented. Me.

“Amazing! Now let’s finish it!” Alek smiled on the screen in front of me. It was an amazing feeling. I’d just landed a blow, woohoo!

“Thank you Sylvia.” I whispered, feeling a pat on my shoulder. I looked behnd me, and I was alone.

“Did you say something Aizis?”

“No, nothing, Let’s go before it gets away.”

We moved closer toward the metal form on the ground.

“Caleb, would you like to do the honors?”

“I’d love to.” He laughed. I felt Aquarion lift it’s foot over the soldiers form, and a giant spike slowly come out of the bottom. “Hasta luego, you son of a bitch!” He yelled. It was then I noticed something. The chest of the soldier opened up, and out popped two figures. I couldn’t see very well at this height, but they were most definitely there.

“Caleb, stop!” Huh, I guess Alek saw them too. “There are people down there!”

“They’re probably shadow angels!” Came his reply, but he did stop short of impaling them.
I managed to figure out how to zoom in to the cherubim soldier, so I could get a better look at the pair piloting it. They looked around our age, strange hair, and… Were those wings?!
A strange feeling came over me then. It was dizzying, nauseating, and then suddenly I felt fine. I looked at the two in the soldier on the ground.

“Those poor humans! They must’ve gotten kidnapped and tried to escape or something.” I said.

“Aizis, can you get them?”

“Aye aye captain!” I hesitated before grabbing them though, since… well, im not quite sure if squashed human is easy to clean off of Aquarion!

“Serena,what should we do with them?”

“Bring them in, we’ll decide what to do from there.” Serena said. There were muffled shouts in the background.

“Um.. Is everything okay over there?”

“Y-yes! Just fine!” She sounded like she was struggling with something, then said, “We’ve just got Fudo tied up over here.. Old man pitched off of the platform pretending he was a constellation..”

God. This place. Fuso jumping off platforms, random girls appearing in vectors..

And then I stopped, remembering
Sylvia... Celiane...
Why'd she come to me?!
And why did Alek follow that up by calling me her name?!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Caleb-
I’ve been told I dressed weird. But I’m sure everyone who has ever said anything would take it back in a heartbeat once they got a load of the two we found in the cherubim soldier. Seriously, victorian oufits?! They haven’t worn those for over 20,000 years.. Where did they even get any? The things were freakin genuine articles, HOW?!
“Cal-chan….” I turned around to find Aizis floatin around in my vector. “Who are they?”
“You think I know!?” I snapped. This sucked, we didn’t even get to fight anything.
“Caleb, be nice you ass. She was just asking a question.”
“Shut it Alek!”
“I-I’m sorry, I won’t-“
“You’re always a jerk!”
“Quite nagging me!”
“Asshole!”
“GUYS!” Izumi’s voice rang through the cockpit. The three of us jumped, kinda startled by her.
“Sorry Izu….” Aizis whispered.
“Aizis, it’s not your fault silly!’ Alek laughed, patting her head. She smiled up at him, and I thought I was gonna vomit from the mushiness all over the controls.
“Whatever. Look, can we just get them to HQ and get this over with?” I sighed. “..pissing me off.”
Alek looked me over funny. I guess he had a reason to, for some reason I was extremely pissed off, ever since we found the two… I guess they’re humans? But it was more like I wasn’t pissed off at them, part of me actually wanted to go be with them.. No, I was pissed at the other two in Aquarion with me. They’re holding me back…!
“Caleb!” Izumi barked over the speaker. “control yourself or you’ll break the merge!”
“What the hell are you talking about?!” I reflexivly yelled back.
“Like you don’t know! Whatever the fuck you were just thinking about set your index down a shit ton!”
“Izumi! Watch you language!”
“Shut up you old bat! I’m not gonna fucking sugar coat it!”
“Izu-chan…” Aizis whispered, and when I looked over, she looked kinda scared.
“Let’s just take these bastards in!” I growled… and get me off this damn thing!
_________________________________________________________________
I skipped dinner that night to wander around the grounds. Being around the new twins was suffocating. Even after someone gave them clothing from this time period, they still looked and felt out of place. And I couldn’t tell, but I really hated them here. Frankly, I’m sure I’ll grow to hate them in the near future..
To say I got lost is a lie, I simply ended up in a place I had no idea existed. It was a pound, surrounded by rocks and completely untouched. Well, almost…
There was a set of footprints, standing right on the edge of the pond. I stood right next to them, and peered into the wter I wonder who else had been here..
“HA!”
SPLASH
And next thing I new I was in the pond. IN. THE. POND. I managed to swim back up to the surface, getting angrier at every bubble that popped next to me.
“Who fucking did that?!” I sputtered, pulling myself onto the bank. I found my culprit rolling aaround laughing her little ass off.
“You should have seen your face!” Izumi could barely talk, she was laughing so hard. She looked up at me and laughed even harder. “Oh my god Caleb you’re soaked!”
And maybe it was the stress of the day, or the peace of this little area, or heck maybe it was even just Izumi, but I couldn’t help myself from laughing too.
“You think it’s funny?!” I laughed, “glaring” down at her. She saw me walking towards her and jumped up. “How do you like it?!” I yelled, She shreiked as I tackled her to the ground.
“Caleb! Get off!” She thrashed, trying to push me off of her. She was in hysterics, and I was sadly getting pretty close. had I ever laughed this hard? “Okay Cal you win!”
“Ha! You’d like to think that, wouldn’t you?” I grinned evilly at her, before scooping her up and walking toward the pond. Her eyes widened as I got closer, she was still smiling, so I went through with my plan. I walked right to the edge and dumped her in. I yelled when she hit the water and sank in. I stood, making sure that she did come back up.. I definitely didn’t need murder on my hands..
“Cal you ass!” Izumi surfaced, giggling. She held her hand out, “Get me out of here!”
of course, I fell for it. We were both in the pond now, and from there just had fun. I hadn’t even ever had this much fun with Alek, or any other friend.
Finally, I pulled myself out of the pool, and this time when I held out my hand to help her out, she actually did. She handed my my hat from the pool edge, and I stuck it on my head.
But she didn’t let go of my hand. Weird.
