This is disgusting. I just don't understand how, in this day and age, people still make such extreme generalizations about an entire race of people. Like, these people seriously believe that every single Arab and Muslim in the world is out to get Americans. Do they not realize that the extreme hostility they have towards Arabs is just as misguided and dangerous as the extreme hostility the Al Qaeda have towards Americans?
I saw Zero Dark Thirty and walked away from the film w/ a very different mindset from these people. This one Tumblr user wrote a really enlightening reply to this image:
I saw Zero Dark Thirty and it was in no way a hateful propaganda film. It was definitely controversial, but it was controversial because it was depicting the behavior of our government and military, which was controversial. To blame this kind of racism on the film itself is just as bad as saying that video games are the reason for violence in america... If you want to blame someone other than the guilty culprits for racism like this, I think it would be far more productive to look at some of today’s media and political figures than at a movie than was clearly misinterpreted by some incredibly ignorant individuals. It’s time we stopped blaming art for America’s problems. Art mimics life.
