Canada's Bit of Happiness

Canada’s Bit of Happiness

Stop and close your eyes.
Take a deep breathe and let it out.

Can you feel it?
The icy cold wind rushing
Through your hair as you run through
A vast field of grass and flowers,
Calling out to your friends
“Hey wait for me!”
The sun is telling you things to bring back that
Pocket-sized warmth you
Get from a hug.

In the wide open space where a
Yellow Perch will
Jump out of the lake that was
Made by a melted glacier
And maybe a moose will cross
Your path while you sit in you’re new
Sundress and take all in.

Can you see it?
Those mountains in the distance
Filling up the space around you

Touch the water with your feet
It’s so clear you can see the
Pebbles at the bottom
Sparkling like diamonds so the world can
See their inner beauty

As the sun begins to sink into the
Carefully painted lake
You start to dance just as
The night sky will dance for you
Sharing each others dream
And telling the stories which your ancestors
Once told.

Now open your eyes.
Yes, here is where I stand
