Chapter Four: Almost...

~*Miyuki*~

After I got into the house, I saw my mom standing at the window watching Kuori. “Such a nice boy. Now that’s the kind of boy you should date.”

“Mother, how many times do I have to tell you? We are friends, that’s it.” I said. “I have to tell that to everyone.” I said thinking back to when I was at his locker earlier.

“But you two are so close and I know you’ve been looking around-“

“How do you know if I have been looking for a boyfriend or not?” I asked.

“I just know.” She grinned.

“This isn’t funny mom.” I dropped my bag after I grabbed my green book and went into my room and closed the door. I sat at my small desk and went through my notes again. “All black, that’s all that is consistent right now. I still have no idea what he looks like.” I began to think. “What is his motive in the first place? He seems to like to steal older artifacts. He has to be young from the descriptions, but for all I know, he could just be a very agile middle aged creeper who has nothing better to do with his time.” I sighed. “I wish Kuori would be more supportive.” I shook my head when I thought of mom’s comment. “Like my best friend likes me that way.” I laughed. “I wanna know what Zero looks like, I hope he isn’t a middle aged creeper, maybe I should write this stuff down.” I picked up a pencil and let my thoughts run. I thought maybe he would be 5’ 9’’, with dark hair and dark eyes, tan and toned. But then I thought maybe he could be shorter, maybe my height, with baby blue eyes and lighter and longer hair. Small and quick, not to big and not to small. “I’ll find out the truth, I will.” I promised myself. Then I want back to my other notes. “He, likes older antique things.” I muttered. Then I snapped. “The museum!” I grabbed a few dollars to pay the entrance fee and ran downstairs. “I’m going to do research at the museum.” I told my mom.

“Ok, have fun! Hope you meet a cute guy there!”

“Shut up mother.” I said as I shut the door. I walked to the large building, and went in with a large crowd. I was able to wander off and make note of some of the oldest things they had on display. I had to keep myself from forgetting I had a bigger mission than to just go around and look at cool things. I was an agent for justice and I was going to keep on looking until I found something I could go on. Suddenly an alarm went off and I was pushed towards the nearest exit. I had a feeling it was Zero, and I raced out of the building and thought about what happened earlier. The roof. I looked up and saw a blur of black, and I gasped. Now’s my chance. I ran in that general direction and I completely lost him. I looked around and stopped. “Now think, where would he go?” I had no idea how fast he really was so I thought about where I would go, a place where someone could lay low until the chaos dies down. “Maybe the park, there are trees and plenty of places to hide.” I took off towards the park, and quietly walked around, trying to look inconspicuous. I turned the corner on a path and saw a guy leaning up against a tree. He was dressed in all black. And I carefully backed up and got myself around to the other side of the tree. He was breathing heavily. What do I do now? I thought. I slowly picked up a stick and pushed it into the back of his shoulder. “Don’t move.” I ordered. Of course he grabbed hey hand fast and pulled me around. I yelled and tried pulling away. I panicked and realized that I had really gotten myself into trouble this time. “S-Stop it.” I said. He loosened his grip on my arms a little, but didn’t let me go completely. I looked up and saw his face. I couldn’t read the expression on his face, and his hair went nicely with his eyes. I could see he was strong, and very well defined. I couldn’t breathe. He leaned in and whispered in my ear.

“You’re pretty ambitious, I’ll have to keep my eye on you.”

“Who, who are you?” I asked.

“I’m the one you’re looking for, but you’ll never catch me. So just give it up.” He said. I pushed him back a little.

“I can’t, I need to bring you down. My future depends on it.”

“Find a new future. I can’t afford to get caught, so I won’t. I’m the perfect thief. As much as I want to help you out, I can’t.”

Why would you want to help me?” I glared. He smirked.

“It’s hard for me to say no to a pretty girl.”

“Don’t sweet talk me, it’s not going to work, no matter how good looking someone is.”

“Well, fine then.”

“Yeah.”

“Right.”

“Ok.”

“Why haven’t you called for help, or raised an alarm?” He asked.

“Uh…”

“Not a very good capturer are you?”

“Shut up!” I glared again.

“Well, I’m off, like I said before, I’ll be keeping an eye on you.” And he ran off fast, so fast that I knew I couldn’t keep up with him, even if I tried.

“Son of a BISKET EATING BULLDOG!” I screamed as I slid down the tree. “I had him too.” I added quietly. “And now I have a stalker? Well, maybe I’ll have another crack at him again. At least he’s, well, hot.” I blushed. “Damn it mom, why did you have to say that you hoped I would meet a cute guy?” I got up and slowly walked home. I got in the door and instantly mom was hugging me so hard I felt like I was suffocating.

“I was so worried, there was an alarm and the emergency with a theft and evacuation, I was scared to death you would get hurt-“

“Can’t… breathe…” I managed to say. She let go and I gasped.

“Don’t scare me like that again!”

“I can’t help it that Zero decided to steal something! What do you think I have, mind control?!” I asked.

“Hello dear. Your sister is sleeping over at a friends tonight.” I looked over at dad.

“Hi dad.” I said. He looked at mom.

“She didn’t know, and she’s fine, so alls well that ends well.” He said calmly to mom.

“Yes, I suppose so…”

“Thanks dad.” I hugged him, and then hugged mom really quick. I went into my room and grabbed my cell phone.

KUORIKOURIKOURIKOURI!!!!!!!! I texted.

Jerky McJerk face

I’m sorry that I ran on the treadmill.

You should be

I’m leaving now. Unless you want to talk to me while I’m in the shower and have that image in your head. I blushed.

Just go take your shower.

You’re right, you would prefer Zero more.

Take your shower.

Yes Ma’am. I flipped my phone shut. He would too. I thought. Though I’m sure he had a good body as well. Though I’ve never seen him with a tight shirt on. “Since I have no homework, I’ll go over and see him so I can tell him what happened in person.”
