Chapter Thirty-Four: A New Boy

~*Miyuki*~

The next day I got a surprise in school. I went to the guidance office and they introduced me to a new boy, and told me he would be following me around to get to know the school. I looked at the boy. He was kinda tall, and his black hair came down past his chin and the tips were red.

“My name is Miyuki. Welcome to the school Kenji.” I smiled. “They told me you were going to be shadowing me for a few days, until they can get your schedule made up.”

"Y-Yeah." He answered looking away from me.

“Don’t worry about being shy, I completely understand. If you have any questions about anything, don’t be afraid to ask me.” I bowed slightly.

"Alright...thank you." He answered not really looking up from the floor.

“Let’s go, I’ll start with a quick run through of the school then.” I opened the door and looked back. “Kenji?” I asked.

“Oh sorry, coming.” He came up beside me and I went across the hall and made my way to the lunch room.

“I like you’re hair by the way.” I said as I looked over at him. I saw a light blush spread across his cheeks.

“Um, thank you.” He said softly. I decided to get off the subject of him, it seemed to make him uncomfortable.

“This is the cafeteria, be careful, there is a little s-“ I tripped over the very thing I was trying to warn him about. He caught me and pulled me up. He chuckled a little.

“Step?” He finished my sentence.

“Y-Yeah…” I said as I blushed.

“Are you alright?” He asked.

“I’m ok.” I said. “Um, i-is there any place you wanted to go specifically?” I asked. Man, that was embarrassing…

“The art room.” He said quietly. My face lit up.

“Ok! Let’s go!” I grinned and bounded out of the lunch room.

“Is there someone you know in the class that we’re heading to?” He asked.

“Yeah, my best friend is in there this period.” I got us to the art room and spotted Kuori at a table I went over and he looked up.

“Hey, what are you doing in here?” He asked.

“Kuori this is Kenji, Kenji meet Kuori. He is shadowing me this week.”

“It’s nice to meet you.” Kenji held out his hand.

“It’s nice to meet you to.” Kuori shook it. I smiled.

“What project are you working on?” Kenji asked.

“Water color.” Kuori rolled his eyes. I laughed.

“Oh…it’s not that bad.” Kenji said.

“Yeah you’re doing fine.” I said.

“Thanks. So Kenji what did you do at your old school?” Kuori asked.

“I ran track.” He said.

“Catch klutzy girls...” I laughed.

“That was out of reaction.” He said. I blushed.

“That’s cool, Hey Mi, your face is red again.” Kuori teased.

“S-Stop it.” I stuttered. Kenji laughed a little.

“Come on Kenji…see you later Kuori.” I quickly turned and walked out of the room. We got out into the hall and I shook my head.

“Are, you ok, um, M-Miyuki?” Kenji asked.

“Yeah, my friend can just be a bit mean without realizing it, you know?"

“I’m sorry if I made you feel like I was making fun of you. I didn’t mean it.” He looked away. I smiled.

“No, don’t apologize, I am a klutz after all, no denying that fact.” I chuckled. He looked back up.

“Well, ok.” He said softly.

“You’re so sweet.” I smiled. He blushed again. “Anyway, back to the tour!” I continued.

The day actually went by fast, and Kenji had started to slowly loosen up. I was at my locker with him and he was saying how much he liked the grounds at the school. “There seems like there is so much to do.”

“That’s great!” I grinned. “I’m so glad you’re finding that there are some things you’re interested in.”

“I’ve seen a few things today I like.” He said.

“Oh is that so?” I looked over and saw Kuori walking towards us.

“Hey.” I smiled.

“So you’ve seen things you like? Like what?” He asked.

“Oh, um, like the grounds.” Kenji said.

“That’s cool. Miyuki, are you doing anything after school?” Kuori looked at me.

“Not, that I know of, why?” I asked.

“Oh I wanted to hang out today.” He said.

“Alright, sure.” I said.

“Um, well, guess I’ll see you tomorrow guys. It was nice meeting you by the way.” Kenji said. I turned and nodded.

“Absolutely, I hope we can get to know each other more.” I smiled.

“That would be nice. Goodbye, um, Kuori?” He said looking at Kuori.

“Yep, see ya.” Kuori smiled. Kenji walked away and Kuori looked at me.

“How was your day?” He asked.

“It was nice. He was shy at first, but he’s starting to come around.” I said.

“That’s cool. You know he just turned and checked out your back end right?” I turned fast and saw no one was there. “Ha! Just kidding!” He laughed and I punched him. “Ow, that hurt.” He said while he laughed.

“That was not funny. Now come on lets go.” I muttered as I walked ahead of him.

“No, it was.” He said and came up beside me again. “I’m sorry I’m sorry I just think it’s great seeing you blush.” He said.

“Oh stop it.” I pushed him playfully.

“He seems like a nice guy.” I said.

“Yeah, he’s quiet.”

“Well wouldn’t you be if you were new in school and some chick was showing you around?”

“Yeah now that I think about it.”

“Especially when that girl is me, I mean come on, I tripped going into the stupid cafeteria.” I muttered.

“Oh my god, that’s awesome. Did he catch you?” He laughed.

“Yes.” I blushed.

“Well at least he has fast reflexes.”

“He seems strong too.” I said.

“He didn’t look it.”

“Oh I’m sorry, are you afraid he’ll out do you?” I pushed him playfully.

“Ha ha.” He said.

“Because you know I’m stronger than you.” I smirked.

“Right, you’re stronger than me.” We walked into his house after he unlocked the door.

“Yeah! You wanna go?” I hopped around him and threw a few fake punches. He caught one of my fake punches.

“You sure you can take me?”

“Without a doubt.”

“Okay then who can pin the other first.” He challenged. I pushed him back a little and went to snatch his wrist. He moved out of the way. I turned and pushed him back towards the wall a little. I pushed him against the wall and smirked. He suddenly grabbed my wrists and flipped around and pinned me against the wall. I blinked, surprised. “Wha…”

“I win.”

“N-no you don’t…”

“Yes I do and now you’re my hostage.” He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder and walked to his bedroom.

“Kuori!”

“I told you I won so I get to do whatever I want.”

“B-B-But…” I stuttered.

“So you have to stay for dinner. That’s the consequence.”

“Oh.” I blushed, again.

“Mom and Dad aren’t going to be home tonight so I’m making it and you’re not helping.”

“No way…” I started to struggle.

“Yes way and you’re going to stay in here.”

“And do what?”

“Sit here.” I held onto the back of his shirt.

“Aw, come on...” He set me down on the bed.

“Now be a good girl and stay put.”

“Since when am I a good girl?” I pouted.

“Since right now.” He shut the door as he walked out. I huffed, and sat there. Like a good girl.
