Stranded

Abyss: NO!!! Not another post!

Once we made it to a sheltered place, I opened the magazine. I flipped it to one of the love test, trying to see what it said (for my own amusement of course!) The result shocked me.

It strongly indicated I loved Prince. I looked at him, then the result, then him again.

‘This quiz is horrible!’

But maybe…I flipped to the table of contents.

‘Here it is.’

I read each and every detail on those few pages. I didn’t like what it indicated.

These pages said the quiz was right.

I looked at him again, and this time he noticed. “What is it?” He moved from Cloud to see what I had in my hand. I closed the magazine.

“Nothing!” I’m sure my face was really red.

“It doesn’t look like nothing.” He tried to see the magazine.

“It’s nothing!”

“Give it!”

“No!”

We wrestled for the girls’ magazine. He finally pinned me down, but the way we were pinned dow made me a bit uncomfortable.

“Prince,” I started.

“I have you. Now give it to me!”

“Are you taking her captive?”

‘Cloud, I’ll get you.’

“Huh?”

“You have her pinned down.”

“I just want the magazine!”

“Can you give me some personal space?”

He seemed to finally realize how close we were. He released me without saying anything, looking red in the face. I decided to tease him.

“Do you need to cool down?”

He reached for my magazine while replying, “No. Of course not.”

I moved it and whispered, “But you like me, don’t you?”

He moved far away from me, making noises that couldn’t be deciphered.

‘Well, if they say I love him, then I might as well have fun.’

Kari and Prince were getting along better.

“If she wants to flirt, can’t she do it quietly?”

‘You know nothing.’

She’s always playful with him (that I could see). “Are you okay?”

“You’re Sora, right?”

“Yup! That’s right!” She seems happy that I remembered her.

“Sora, what do you think?”

“What do I think of what?”

“My sister.”

She seemed to ponder. “She and Prince are really funny!”

‘Oh really?’

“But they seem really dense,” she continued.

The mood between the three of us seemed so saddening that you could almost hear the music.

‘The density of the two is sad.’

I walked away to think in peace. I sighed as the answer of the quiz kept flashing in my head. ‘I need to seriously think the whole thing through.’

I transformed into a Maine Coon for the peace. I remembered how we met in the snow, most of him was obscured. He acted so nice, but that changed quickly.

I purred as I remembered all the good times we had (they weren’t much.) The bad times were not so great, but it was still better than most of my other memories.

The warmth spread through me, thinking of him. I curled up to sleep, finally giving way to exhaustion.

~3rd POV~

What she didn’t know was that Prince had followed her. Only out of personal curiosity…or so he told himself.

He sat next to her sleeping form, and waited for her to wake so they could move on (but everyone else was asleep!)

The guardians of the labyrinth watched the Halflings, making sure nothing stood in the way. But instead, they saw all (or most) got along with each other. A few got along better than others.

They whispered, arguing with each other, and they finally agreed. “Get Saya and Hoomai.”
