Name: Paloma (pah-loh-ma) Italian for dove
Nickname: None (maybe Pal? [Pronounced like Paul] or Pally? [Pronounced like Polly])
Type of Animal: Dog
What They Look Like In Animal Form: Paloma is a creamy white Whippet-Border Collie mix with very faint, slightly darker Border collie markings, but she usually looks brown because she’s so dirty all the time. Since she lives on the street, she’s very skinny in her dog form as well as her human form (so much so that when she’s in her human form people think she has an eating disorder).
Age: 1 ½ dog years (15 human years)
Birthdate: Sometime in early March
Eye Color: Dark orange
Gender: Female
Hair Style: Short and wavy
Hair Color: Platinum blonde
Full Outfit: Whatever she can find before morphing into human form (usually tattered jeans or basketball shorts and a t-shirt). She does carry around dark blue hoodie to sleep on.
Tails, Ears, Claws, etc?: Paloma can make her dog ears appear if she wants to, and if she does, then she hides them with the hoodie. Eyes and teeth are the same as when she’s a dog (which is why she doesn’t talk a lot in human form). Also, the Border collie markings are faintly visible and contrast with her light skin.
Weapon: She is not dominant in the slightest and runs at the first sign of danger or trouble, so in a way, her crazy fast speed is the only weapon she has. If Paloma is cornered with absolutely zero means of escape, she will lash out in fear.
Personality: Very flighty and fearful, Paloma ekes out a living wherever she can without getting bullied. She is extremely quiet, rarely ever making a sound. Paloma is a prime example of paranoia and cowardice. With a quiet, cautious approach and a little TLC, Paloma has the potential to open up to someone.
Interests: Finding food, a warm shelter, maybe a nice pack, fascinated by stars, secretly wants to see the world
Dislikes: Cold weather, standing out, attracting attention, being bothered, having to talk to strangers, and getting weird looks from humans about her skinniness and disheveled condition
Fears: Being cornered, getting yelled at, being betrayed, loud noises and humans/dogs finding out about her shape-shifting ability
Past: Paloma and her siblings were born on the streets in a cold week of early March to a stray Whippet-Border collie mother (her father was pure Whippet). At eight weeks, humans took them to the local Humane Society, which they liked very much, because it was warm, they got food every day, and the people were nice. At ten weeks, she was adopted by a couple with a child and taken to their house (which was in a good part of the neighborhood). Note: At this point, she never knew about her shape-shifting abilities. She lived with them for many months and grew to love them as her adopted family. At six months, when they were working with her to learn ‘roll over’, the child got a little frustrated and said he wished that Cloud (that was what they called her) was a person so that she could understand them. Naturally, being an obedient little pup, she wished to be a person like the child did. She shape-shifted immediately and freaked the living s**t out of her family. She didn’t even understand what had happened when they were screaming at her. They put her in one of the guest rooms and called the police who came a few minutes later. Before they could take Paloma away, she morphed back into a dog and bolted through town. As the cops were pursuing her, the humans jeered and tried to slow her down by throwing things at her, which was a traumatizing event. Since then, she’s had many bad experiences while living on the streets, which has led her once vibrant personality (and healthy physique) decline into ruin. Paloma has never met another half-breed or heard of Harmony
Relationships/Crush: None
Family: Paloma had a mother, two brothers, and a sister, but was separated from them at ten weeks of age. She never knew her father, though she assumes that he was a half-breed.
Friends: None (maybe her blue hoodie?)
Reference Picture?: None of her human form (I fail at humans), but the dog one is here.
