Past: Paloma was born on the streets, but family ended up finding and adopting her. She was unaware of her shape-shifting abilities, or halfer background, until the young child of the family said he wished that Paloma was a person so that she could understand commands—wanting to comply with the will of her master, she shape-shifted unintentionally. The astounded and confused family kicked her out immediately, and Paloma ran away in fear. Since then, Paloma has met other friendly halfers, which has helped become more trusting.
