Her tribe had long held the white stag as symbol of luck and good fortune, and treated her as a princess, even appointing her as leader when the old one died (though she needs a lot of help to run things). When half-breeds became illegal, her and her tribe retreated underground. They are involved in Rebellion activities. They tried diplomacy, but it didn't work.
