That's right, you are not imagining things. You have found one of the most amazing fan clubs on the entire Internet! Why you ask? Take a look around and you will see!
If you are not an avid Zelda fan your first thought might be What in the world is a Desbreko? Well a Desbreko is one of the monsters found in The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s mask. Similar to the Skullfish, the Desbreko is larger and more vicious. They have no stomach to fill, but they still enjoy inflicting pain on the living. Once it senses you it will pursue you and hurt you as many times as possible. In other words, I’d look twice before getting into the water! ^_~
Now you might be wondering why there is a fan club for a vicious monster from Majora’s Mask. It’s really quite simple. This fan club is for a member of OtakuBoards named Desbreko Who just happens to be a big fan of the Zelda games. ^_^ Still wondering why there is a fan club? Well if you are not a member of OtakuBoards then it is likely you have not read this: The DailyOtaku which was written by Desbreko.
Once you have read it I think you will understand why there is a fan club. ^_^
It’s true, I swear it. Apparently long time member Michiyo Shimizu’s protests that she doesn’t like Des at all were just that, protests. It seems that Sangome used her super drawing skills to quickly sketch a picture of Michi giving the sketch she had drawn of Des a kiss. Just take a look at the image to see what I mean.

If there is one thing I have learned, it's that fans of the Desbreko Fanclub are rather interesting at times. Take this morning, each of you had a mysterious update and came here to find nothing. Well after being cornered on the subject, literally as Indi practically pounced on me the moment I signed into AIM... Here's what happened. :p

And there you have it, the mystery solved, I am apparently guilty of abusing my posting privileges and access to this world. I'm sorry! I didn't mean it!
Many of us are fans of something, right? We go about our day and our business thinking nothing of it until something comes along and reminds us or confronts us with that inner side our our personality, the fan side. [And yes I know that sounded like the dark side, so sue me] Anyway... getting back to what I was starting to go off on... and that is whether or not fan is a bad word. Lets start with a description of the word:
Fan (person)
A fan, aficionado or supporter is someone who has an intense, occasionally overwhelming liking of a sporting club, person, group of persons, company, product, work of art, idea, or trend. Fans of a particular thing constitute its fanbase or fandom. They may start a fan club, hold fan conventions, create fanzines, write fan mail, or engage in similar activities.
In a few cases, individual fans may become so fascinated with the objects of their infatuation that they become obsessive. [Stop staring this is not describing me after all :p] These fans engage in behaviors that are considered extreme or abnormal. This includes idolatry or other forms of worship, such as creating a personal shrine dedicated to the idol at one's home, and can sometimes extend to the point of the fans becoming stalkers.
So there you have it, the official definition of a fan, or semi official. :p Is it a bad thing? Or a good thing? Depends on the person I would say. I've heard the phrase that there is no such thing as a sane fangirl/boy/etc. But I have to wonder if that is really true or not. I mean I consider myself sane. >_> So you all can stop looking at me like that!
Anyway, where am I going with this again? Ah yes... is the word bad or good? Well since it depends on the person and whether or not they are obsessive or not... I'd say only you can answer that. As for myself... if only Des would quit finding the funniest videos on YouTube, I can't help but just about die laughing over some of them. :p So my answer as to whether it's a bad word for me or not? I'm not telling!
And we have lift off! The Desbreko Fanclub world is online! :p After battling slow site speeds last week and too much homework we are finally good to go! And to get us started, I present part of one of the previous updates from the main website. So I present...
The Mystery Behind the Lack of Visible Membership
To begin with, we, the founders, had decided to wait until a few members had joined so we could introduce new members along with the updates.
Anyway, when it became apparent that everyone was not rushing to join the official Desbreko FanClub we decided to do a top secret investigation to determine what was scaring all of his fans away. After promising all of the participants in the investigation that their identity would remain a secret we finally got the answer we were look for.
Now we can’t give you the exact details as to how many people we talked to or the exact words they used but we can sum it up for you. And to make it easier we decided to put the results in a survey format.
98% of the girls we talked to were afraid to join as they feared that their current boyfriend would be insanely jealous once they realized just how wonderful the great Desbreko was. So they had decided to keep their adoration a secret. The remaining 2% didn’t know who Desbreko was so we gave the link to both the fan club and OtakuBoards. ^_~
90% of the guys we talked to were of all things afraid that by being a member their girlfriends would dump them to chase Desbreko once they realized who he was and how magnificent he is. So though they admired Desbreko they too decided to keep their adoration a secret. That and they said admitting you wanted to worship another guy gave the wrong impression to the ladies. 6% didn’t know who Desbreko was so we also gave them a link to both the fan club and OtakuBoards. The remaining 4% denied knowing who Desbreko was. How do we know they were pretending they didn’t know him? I think that when someone says “I don’t believe someone that cool could exist!” And then turns around and quickly stammers “I don’t know who you’re taking about!” It’s fairly obvious they are pretending.
