Past: Tenshi was adopted by the Takahashi family when she was just a newborn. She never questioned her heritage, and soon convinced herself that she was truly a Takahashi. Tenshi's older brother, Akio, took her and ran away from their parents, who were abusive, when she was only 10, and he 14. He dropped out of high school in order to begin working part time, and often stole things so that he and Tenshi could survive. He loved his younger sister dearly and was very protective of her, but he couldn't spend much time with her, as he had to work the majority of the time. Tenshi grew reserved, as she spent most of her time by herself, preferring to write poetry rather than venture out of their small home. Akio soon enrolled her into a nearby school, and her petite frame and angelic features made her instantly popular. She easily made many friends, and thought she had been enjoying her life, though there was always a niggling feeling in the back of her mind that she wasn't as happy as she thought. She soon forgot all about her parents and by the time she had turned sixteen, her brother was the most important person to her.

Death: As Tenshi and Chi Fukuyama became increasingly closer, Chi soon developed a crush on Akio, which quickly developed into something more serious. She confessed her feelings to him, and became extremely depressed when he politely rejected, saying that he loved someone else. She turned to Tenshi for comfort, and Tenshi, oblivious to her own feelings, helped her friend as best she could. However, Chi soon began to notice the obvious chemistry between Akio and Tenshi. Overwhelmed with jealousy and rage, she murdered Tenshi, and Akio, when he attempted to protect his sister.
Reason to Come Back to Life: Tenshi is consumed with fury and hatred in the afterlife, when she realizes that Akio has been murdered, as well. She understands her fierce love for him and vows to have her revenge on Chi, who, while rueful of what she has done, lives life normally.
