I understood what you said!! As far as hiragana and katakana, I know some of the characters but need to study them better. For now I'm a total Anglophile using romaji (which I know is a complete cop-out).
Thanks :3 Yeah, I know that I have a good amount of time to think about what I want to do, but it's always a good idea to start planning as early as possible. But I'm not going to give myself a hernia or anything worrying about what I should do :/ I'm a worrywart but not that bad!
I thought about making my minor Japanese, too. At least if I keep up my self-study, I'll have an edge in grammar and speaking!
I might do a blog-post-course on basic Japanese based on how fast I learn it myself. Think of it as a digital summer intensive but more laid-back.
So... if you want to learn, I can teach you! (Or at least try )
Waaa, sugoi yo! ima, hiragana to katakana ga warakimasu ka?
(Idk how far you've gotten in your studies, so I'll just translate: "Wah, awesome! Do you understand hiragana and katakana yet?")
Good luck with deciding what you want to do with your future! It's tough work... xD; I'm wrapping up my first year of college, and I still have yet to get anywhere conclusive, except my Japanese minor.
English seems like a good path, though, especially if you enjoy reading and analyzing literature. You'll figure out what you want to do! C:

It's The Most Basic Japanese - All You Need to Know to Get By (Most Basic Languages) by James McGlasson.
I've never heard of that site, but that's awesome that you've found a site that you like/can put up with.

You're learning Japanese????? Lucky! I've been curious about the language, but it looks so hard. I have no clue how to go about learning it.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
