Sora no Otoshimono (short review and impression)

Ah, where to start with this one… No matter how much you look at it, it does have something special about it that it makes it different from other anime of its kind, even if it seems that it doesn’t hold to the original self. Maybe is it because of the setting? Maybe because of the characters? Or maybe because by the way on how the story progresses? Whatever it is, it definitely got my attention and hours of fun watching it.

It also could be because of the graphics. Both the drawings and especially coloring is so nice looking. The lighting effects and shadings are also wonderfully done. Soundtrack is also good and while it does have some memorable songs, others are just average to decent.

Still what I really liked about this anime is the presentation. It really picks well mixing it with standard style of drawing to the chibi one every time when something funny happens. And how that something funny happens? Well, the story follows a high school student who enjoys his peaceful live. He also is a friend to his next door childhood female friend (you can already see a pattern here), but that peace gets ruined by the arrival of an angeloid which will do anything for their masters. As the time goes even more of these angeloids come and Tomoki (the main character) understands his role in all that and that is to protect them. Along with them there are also two more characters who are really unique to themselves and will make this adventure even more colorful. It is filled with the usual perverted fan-service, yes, but only for the comedic purpose (Tomoki being a pervert himself and trying with all his might to discover the treasure that girls hold, failing of course most of the time). All in all, it might not be a ground-breaking or a revolutionary anime, but it is still good and just wants to be good in its own way. Of course next to the comedy there are romancing moments as well, with the whole love triangle getting bigger and bigger...
