A Mission

Hanna
I was at the shopping center picking up potion ingredients. I was running out of hazelwitch and crushed hen's teeth. Dusk was in his regular cat form ridding on my shoulder. He yawned with boredom and made a lazy attempt to swat at a fly. I'm bored Dusk complained telepathically to me. When is Midori coming to visit?

You know it's not easy for Midori to visit. I telepath back at him. Although we live in a neutral territory she has to sneak from the Ninja's border to this border. Plus something is strange is going on.

What?

I don't know but it's bad.

Gee you should be a seer.

I flicked at his ear and he swat his paw at me. I stopped at a food and drink outdoor stand that was selling smoked lizards and snakes and I ordered a smoked lizard for Dusk and fire roasted potato for me. As we ate while sitting under an ancient oak tree I overheard a conversation between a couple of witches.

"Did you hear? The kenai have killed the Mahalay Coven?"

I chocked on a piece of potato and doubled over coughing.

"Oh no another Coven has been killed by them. They've not only killed witches but faeries and other magical beings."

"Tch, at least those barbaric ninjas will be in the clear."

"You idiot! Ninjas are just a magical as us witches. They just don't use their magic as often as us."

"Well I guess that just adds more to the Kenai's Hit List." One of the witches said humorlessly the others murmured in agreement. Usually such racial comments about my father's people would make me angry but I was too shocked about learning about the kenai. Oh dear Hecate! The Kenai?!!! They're here and they're already killing magical beings. Does Midori knows? Oh no she's suppose to come over and visit! What if she runs into them along the way?

I jumped up and Dusk fell off my shoulder in the process. I scooped him up in my arms and ran to my cottage. Someone was there waiting for me at the garden gates. I quickly skidded to a halt it was Simon the alchemist. "What is it?" I said quickly.

"You have a letter from Prince Micheal."

I stared at him and Dusk was the first to talk, "What in the Underworld would royalty want with a mixed blood like her?!"

Simon ignored Dusk like he usually do and handed me the letter. I tore of the royal seal and read the letter,

Dear Hanna Avalon,

I will not waste your time with pointless messages. It is a simple as this, Atalia is in danger, and we need your help. Please come and assist us in our quest to save Atalia. I will explain everything to you once you arrive.

Sincerely,
Your prince.

I stared at the letter and had never met the prince or any other members of the royal family. I knew my mother had worked for them on several important missions being a powerful and important witch she is.

"What will you do?" Simon asked me with anxiously. He was always worried about me ever sense we were children.

"This sounds like fun let's do it!" Dusk said enthusiastically. He hadn't show this much spirit sense Percilla Halliwell challenged me into a spell dual.

"This is serious!" Simon said sternly to Dusk. "I don't know what the prince is thinking about asking for Hanna's help. Yes her mother's a very powerful witch in history but does he know about the feud going on between Lady Miranda and Ichi's family."

"Simon the world is in danger. This is more important this decades of petty arguments and bitter rivalry." I said. I folded the letter and put it in my pocket.

"Hanna your not serious." Simon said but I didn't waist time to argue with him as I hurried into the house to prepare for the journey. I gathered all the things I need or thought would be useful and store them in a magical wallet sized pouch and put in my pocket along with the letter.

"Alright time for an adventure!" Dusk said turning into his true form with bat wings and horns on top of his head. He hovered in the air as I stopped to use the Scrying Glass. "Show me my sister Midori." I said to the mirror. My reflection was replaced by a image of Midori who looked exactly like me except for her hair color and she was dressed in her traveling cloths. I used this opportunity to send a telepathic message to Midori.

Midori turn back. The kenai are killing magical beings. You and the other ninjas are endanger.

I sensed Midori's shock and concern from miles away and immediately got a response. But what about you?

I'll be fine I was invited to the castle by the Prince for a mission.

What?! How come I didn't get a message from him?

Your out traveling to another a border it's hard to deliver a message to someone whose traveling

Oh right. Well be careful sis. Don't let anyone put you down for being a mixed blood.

I won't. I promised her and out telepathic connection was ended as we went our separate ways. I got the teleportation circle reading and told Simon who was watching me with a worried expression, "Don't worry I'll be fine."

"Yeah she's with me ain't she?" Dusk said.

"That doesn't help me much." Simon said frowning at him. Dusk stuck his tongue at him and went to the middle of the teleportation circle. "Take me to the castle of Prince Micheal." Dusk said and he vanished.

I looked at Simon and he looked at me. "Your parents would be proud of you." He said honestly and I smiled at him. "Wish me luck." I said winking at him and I stepped into the middle of the circle and said. "Take me to the castle of Prince Micheal." I was transported from my house to the throne room of the castle. There was a man sitting on the throne, must be a prince. A girl with blue hair and I knew right of the bat was fairy and a man I knew instantly was not human but not evil.

I waved my hand and smiled, "Hi I'm Hanna Avalon. You summoned me your majesty."

~

Okay that's it. Please tell me what you think of it.
