Joining the Quest

*Ayre*

"I am not wearing this," I stated flatly, looking at the outfit my friend had shoved me into.

The plaid miniskirt was exactly that, mini. I was beginning to wonder if Sapphire had gotten this from her little sister. The top was a black off-the-shoulder piece with tears here and there, showing the matching hot pink tanktop underneath. And to top it all off, I had pink thigh-high socks and my usual black sneakers.

"Why not?" Sapphire whined, checking my out proudly.

"It's too... Matching," I told her, glaring at her with cold eyes.

"It's perfect! Every heroine wears a cool outfit when going on a quest!" the happy girl exclaimed, completely unaffected by my gaze.

I shook my head and sighed, giving up. It's not like I had anything else to wear. Sapphire looked happy at my surrender, and she dragged me towards the door where I would begin my journey.

"This is your chance to defeat the Kenai! You're the strongest angel in this town, surely they'll accept you!"

I rolled my eyes and walked out of Sapphire's house, with her following me. We continued on to the edge of town in complete silence. When it was finally time to part, I gave Sapphire a parting pat on the head, the closest I could get to a warm gesture.

"Thank you, Sapphire." With a nod, I continued down the road on my long journey to the castle.

When I finally reached the looming building, I held my head up high and walked towards the guards. One looked at me disdainfully, like I was a human. The other just kept gazing forward.

"I am here to join the Prince's quest to awake the twins," I told them, glaring both of them down.

"Sorry, the party already left," the guard on the left said, causing the his companion to smack him.

"Where are they?" I snapped, causing the guards to flinch.

"They went into town, I believe they're staying somewhere for the night."

Without another word, I turned and marched towards the town I believed them to be at. If they were smart, they would have been on there way to Lady Athena, who would be more likely to help them defeat the Kenai and their queen.

When I finally reached the closest village, I made my way to the first tavern I saw. Inside, I saw a receptionist.

I walked over towards him and asked, "Did a bunch of people recently request room keys?" I knew he would not tell me this information so easily, but I would make him do my bidding.

"Why do you ask?" he replied, returning my cold look.

"Because I am a part of the group. I need to know this information!" I winced, knowing I was losing my patience. And that was not good at all.

"Fine, yes. A fairy with blue hair came in and reserved thirteen rooms," the man informed me, lowering his voice.

"Thank you," I nodded sincerely. He told me how to get to the fairy and I followed his directions.

The sound of glass breaking sounded from down the hall, and I wrinkled my nose at what I smelled. Vesper. With a shudder, I threw open the door that led supposedly into the fairy's room.

A small blue-haired girl was staring out the window at something, two petite wings sprouting from her back. She turned at the sound of the door opening, instantly resuming a guarded position.

"I mean you no harm. I have heard of your mission to awake the twins and I wish to join you on your quest."

So there's my first post! ^^ I hope it wasn't too long! This was the only way I could think to add Ayre to the storyline, so if someone could run into the room or if Lilith approved her, that would be great! ^^
