Memories of the Past... (Part 7)

I'm writing earlier! Yay =D *dances* I actually hae a hair appt tomorrow, so I'm trying to make sure I'm not up too late XD;; Alright, now it's on to part 7! X3 As a general key when you see "<<>>" in the story, it will signify the start/end of a flashback within the flashback XD

~*~Part 7: Viridian Forest~*~

Aberius

Aberius ran at top speed down the road that led to Viridian forest. Before he set out, the two of them took Kitty to Brock's house so she could rest more comfortably. Brock's mother told Aberius to rest assured that she would take care of them. Aberius thought back on the information Brock gave him.

<<>> Brock walked up to Aberius witha small box in his hands. He removed the lid and pulled out a single leaf.

"This is a leaf from the antidote plant. It's not enough on it's own to make enough medicine, but you can get the scent from it so it makes it easier for you to find..." Brock instructed. He handed Aberius the leaf and a photo. "Here's a picture of what the full plant looks like, as well."

Aberius took them both and put them in his inner jacket pocket, then nodded, "Alright."

"Even though you are a gijinka, I advise you be wary. The forest is full of Bug gijinka and I know that Dark gijinka are at a disadvantage, there. So don't get too reckless..."

"Idiot," Aberius straightened his jacket, "I know that much myself that you don't have to tell me..."

"If you can... No... It would be best that you return within 12 hours. After that, the poison residue will have irriversible effects."

Aberius waved a hand as he walked out the door and began his mission. <<>>

I will return in time... Aberius vowed to himself. Before long he came to the entrance of the forest. No turning back now...Aberius charged in, not thinking twice. He ran ahead for a couple hundred feet then stopped, sniffing the air.

"This way..." he said to himself, walking to the left. A rustle came from the bushes. Aberius stopped and tensed, looking at the spot where the sound came from. After not moving for 2 minutes, he continued walking the direction of the scent of antidote plants. He walked for a little bit more and heard more rustling, then a giggle from someone with a high, somewhat raspy voice. He tensed and guarded himself. "Who's there?!" he barked. More rustling and giggling.

"Ano-sa, ano-sa..." came a voice from the bushes, "Aren't you a little bit lost there, Ab-boya?" More giggling.

"Cut the crap and show yourself." Aberius growled.

"Ano-sa... you're a stranger in this forest -kirin..." said the voice. "How do I know I can trust you, Ab-boya?"

Aberius clicked his tongue in frustration, "As far as I'm concerned, you're the dangerous one. You're hiding and you're a wild gijinka. I can smell you..." He wrinkled his nose.

More raspy laughter, "You may have a point there -kirin... Fine I'll reveal myself, but stay put, eh, Ab-boya?" A shadow jumped from the bushes and into the tree above. Aberius looked up to see who his pursuer was. He was met face-to-face with a wild Pikachu gijinka, who was perched on the branch with a goofy smile plastered on his face. He swished his tail back and forth as he twirled around the branch. "You can see me now -kirin. Are you satisfied, Ab-boya? Ano-sa... You're a wild gijinka, too, y'know?"

Aberius breathed out through his nose. He reminds me of a certain someone... Aberius thought, feeling slightly annoyed. "Sorry but I don't have time to play... I'm here on a mission. Later," he walked ahead.

"Ah...!" the Pikachu jumped down from the branch and walked alongside Aberius, hands behind his head. "Ano-sa, ano-sa... My name's Raishi. What do they call you -kirin?" Raishi grinned.

"Annoyed..." Aberius said, brow furrowing. Why do I keep running into these types...? he rubbed his forehead.

"Noy-kun...?" Raishi cocked his head to one side.

"It's Aberius!" Aberius growled. "Why are you following me, kid?"

"Ano..."

"If you say 'ano-sa' one more time, I will give you a reason to hide..."

"Eh... Onii-chan, you're not very friendly, are you -kirin?"

"I don't need friends. No one ever showed me frienship, so why should I start now?" Aberius walked on ahead. Raishi widened his steps to catch up.

"Well, whoever those people were, they aren't nice people. Making friends is easy -kirin... You just smile" Raishi put on a cheesy grin. Aberius sighed. "So, Ab-boya, what are you looking for in this forest?"

Slightly irritated, Aberius answered, "I'm looking for an antidote plant for someone who's been poisoned. Which is why I don't have time for chit-chat."

"If it's the antidote plant you're looking for..." Raishi looked over, one of his ears flopping in the process, "then there are a whole bunch of them that grow in a small clearing up ahead -kirin."

"I would've made it without you telling me that." Aberius muttered. "I can smell them nearby."

"Then let's go, Ab-boya!" Raishi said, grabbing Aberius' wrist and running ahead.

"H-hey!" Aberius choked out. The young Pikachu dragged him all the way to the clearing which was, as he said, full of antidote plants. Raishi let go off Aberius' wrist and turned around, smiling with his hands behind his head.

"You can pick as much as you want -kirin!" he said. "I'll help you." he knelt down and started picking up the plants. Aberius sighed and figured there wasn't any reason to argue since he found what he came here for. He started to pick some plants himself and placed them in the bag Brock had given him to hold the plants.

"So..." Aberius said to the Pikachu gijinka, "Why you always say 'kirin...?'"

"Hm?" Raishi looked up. "Oh you mean my accent -kirin? Well, the reason is..." he paused. Aberius looked at him, holding a plant in his hand. "Everything should be Sparkling! You know, like 'pika pika?'" Aberius facepalmed. "But it's too obvious for a Pikachu gijinka to say 'pika' so I did it to stand out," Raishi finished with a big grin. A few Sparks flew out of his cheeks.

"You..." Aberius managed, "you're pretty simple, aren't you?"

"Ah..! Ab-boya, you really are mean -kirin..." Raishi pouted.

"And another thing... Why do you keep calling me Ab-boya? You said it before I even told you my name."

"Well, you're an Absol gijinka, ne? So, 'Ab' from Absol and 'boya' for boy. Ab-boya -kirin. I just lucked out that your name is Aberius, so I can still use it." Raishi grinned.

"You look shrimpier than me. I should be calling you 'boya...' How old are you?"

"I'm 15 -kirin. You smell like you're 17, ne?"

Aberius nodded. He took the plants that Raishi had picked and stuffed them into the bag. Raishi had one more in his hand, but he saw that it had a rock in the roots and flung it away, the rock hitting a tree. He held out the remaining plant to Aberius.

"Here you go," he said grinning the same grin.

Aberius took the plant, "Thank you..." he put it into the bag with the rest. "I finished sooner than I thought. I'll be able to get these back without worry. You're pretty annoying, but you were useful." Aberius patted Raishi's head.

"Ah... That's not very nice -kirin..." Raishi pouted.

"Thank you, Raishi," Aberius said, expressing his sincere gratitude. Just then, however, the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. Aberius tensed as he heard buzzing comming from the surrounding trees. He looked up to see hundreds of Beedril gijinka flying out of them.

"Who threw a rock at our tree?" one of them buzzed. "One of our babies fell thanks to that. How do you plan to make up for this?"

They looked like they were in an extremely foul mood and would not listen to reason. Dammit... Aberius swore to himself. They've got us surrounded... How do we get out of here...?
