UGH.
Yeah I'm gonna write something about the site too. I didn't wanted to since we all know what's going on, but yeah in the end I want to say a couple of things too. Feel free not to read if the topic it's becoming boring XD but I really want to write this stuff now. then I will never take this subject ever again, cause i'm tired about it too.
It's just my opinion, nothing too serious, everyone here it's intelligent and will understand.
First of all did the site had problems yesterday too? like we all saw the two days "could not connect" stuff, but last night I tried post something, and the site stop working, but it was the normal "site host not available" or something like that stuff. and like twenty minutes ago I was commenting stuff and in the fanart section, and at one point the site could not load, or better it keep loading and loading.. so I just closed everything and returned now, after 30 minutes (?) and now it's working. at this point, theO not working it's just normal, like the routine. how sad and ANNOYING!
The question is, if that two days not working stuff it was like maintenance, should things get better? like if someone (who it is though, ghost admin?) does maintenance, should not bugs get fixed? but still, I had already had problems with the site again!

BUT here is my opinion. the site don't work? well, what can we do about it? nothing. we can't do anything as normal users. it sucks, but that how it is. if the problem continue, we could just think about moving in some other kind of social network, or site, even if I don't think there's another place as friendly as this one out there. BUT (again) still my opinion, I don't think this site will be closed. it's like too big a,nd there's too much stuff! the worst it will happen in my view, is that it will continue to be abandoned on the technical and admin part, like forget about promotions, but the site will continue to exist. I would be very surprised if the site get's like deleted somehow, still it seems like many people has this fear. I don't think it will happen.
second stuff I want to talk it's inactivity. yeah there's inactivity. but hey you know what? inactivity generates even more inactivity! just think about it: you're a new user who loves art, or anime manga, and find this place. but heck, on technical side this place sucks! and no admin, and no promotions and no mail letter and stuff.
but if at least finds good people to be friend with (and this place it's full of good people to be friend with) it could still think about staying! BUT NO ONE CARES! let's be honest, we whine about inactivity, cause we're sad about it! but WE'RE the one who generate inactivity! PLEASE, please, don't think I'm accusing anyone or even complain, cause I understand completely that everyone has their life, but let's be very honest here. How much life it takes to comment on someone post/fanart/wallpaper or anything? 30 seconds? 1 minute? let's not say "there's inactivity" and then do nothing!
Or let's do anything. I mean when we created our account there wasn't a contract to sign with said "I swear to always be active and post lots of stuff and always comment" so everybody it's free to use their otaku profile as best as we believe. (always being respectful of the rules and the others users though, respect it's the number one most important thing to remember) but hey here's the truth: a community it's a place where everyone does his part to make something better and better. the otaku has enormous potential to be a fantastic community with loads of kind, respectful and talented and good people. BUT I feel like there's no community in here. not anymore. people like just come, see, maybe just maybe comment. and yeah, whatevah. I always try to comment and be active, but I feel demotivated too in this ambient at this point.
So yeah, technical problems + no community = no new users (can you blame people to not want to stay here?) and not a very good site.
that being said, i repeat that's only my personal opinion, and I don't have the right and truth in my pocket, ya know. just wanted to say mine on the topic, that's all.
