Hello fellow Otaku!!
So this is an introductory section primarily for the sake of introducing myself... yay!

How did I get into anime/manga?
I have a gf who absolutely loves manga and anime. (Need I say more?)
Through my childhood I was never allowed to watch Pokemon, Yu-Gi_Oh, Bey-Blade, Naruto, etc.
Therefore, the first Anime I ever watched was Kiki's Delivery Service by Hayao Miyazaki when I was 11.
(about 17 years after it's release-Danish theaters were being slow)
My initial reaction was one of great awe. The movie was just SO AMAZING!!!
Miyazaki's skill and attention to detail was, and still is, one of the very best.
Shortly after that trip to the movies I had a full arsenal of every Studio Ghibli movie I could find.
I watched them constantly and became convinced that they must be the best movies I had ever watched!
After having been in the USA for 3-ish years, 4 girls in my class convinced me to start reading and watching more.
My gf (one of the girls who re-introduced me to manga/anime) gave me a llloooonnnnngggggg list of her favorite manga and anime. Naturally, I'm going through those first.
So far so good-I'll be putting the list (plus some other ones I've read/watched) on here so y'all know what craziness I'm enjoying! ^^
My favorite artist remains Miyazaki-so I decided my user name should relate to that. Haitaka is the Wizard from Tales from Earthsea-his name meaning Sparrowhawk.

I hope someone at least reads this. I see it as a great achievement if someone does : )
Anyway, I should really get to posting my list.

Dark Anime Recommendations

Been busy with school, life and such... and a bit of Minecraft (the Japanese build is coming on steadily, I'm happy with it so far-will send screenshots upon request although it's not much).

Anyway, I recently found an AMV on YouTube called Reflections of Despair (by Gigguk), which is the most accurate depiction of what someone can think when things get really bad... admittedly I have felt exactly the same way before... not good times. Anyway, go watch if you haven't-it's really well made!
This AMV made me want to watch some less-than-happy animes and read maybe a couple mangas of the same demeanor. So suggestions on any animes/mangas that are on the dark or mentally unstable side would be appreciated ^^ Not to worry-my mentality is currently fine so you won't be fueling something bad by suggesting. I'm just interested.

Japanese Street Festival 2013

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great weekend!
Yesterday was the day of the National Cherry Blossom- and Japanese Street Festivals!! Got tickets to both, and it was awesome!
My favorite parts of the cherry blossom festival were the really skilled marching bands, and especially the Japanese floats (like the Tamagawa float). Of course everything else was great, those were just my favorite participants in the festival.
Later on, I attended the Japanese Street Festival with four of my friends-got myself a parasol and some bamboo (made the mistake of only bringing $25 besides the entrance fee of $5). Besides the fact that there were no blossoms left on the trees in DC (except for a large cherry tree conveniently growing in my front yard that's a late bloomer) it was really great fun and I'm sad that I will not be in the country to enjoy it next year... (but I'd rather not talk about that -_-)

I don't know if anyone else here on theO was able to go, since I know a lot of you live all around the world, but I would like to hear from you wether or not you went ^^
Also, if anyone has attended, or are attending, any Anime/Manga/Gaming conferences in Europe I would also like to hear anything you may have to say on that matter... I really don't know an awful lot about European cons nor where they are held...

Build Suggestions plz :3

Ok, so... sorry for not being active whatsoever over the past... months?
Tumblr, DeviantArt and Minecraft have been occupying my easily distracted attention for awhile, but I'll return as soon as I get bored with these distractions (if that's even possible)!
For now, tho, I'd still like to hear from some of you guys (or all of you, but that's not possible) so I would like to ask the people who do read this to give me some ideas for something to build in minecraft. It can be anime/manga related but doesn't HAVE to. I'm using Tekkit Lite, so I can pretty much build anything.
The suggestions can be characters, places, themes, logos (already done Homestuck/SBURB) or absolutely anything.
You see, the point is that the more I build the faster I'll tire of it. And if I can talk to you guys about something whilst getting over this obsession at the same time that's just even better ^^

Feel free to suggest anything, if you would like I can send you a screenshot of the finished piece, although it may not interest you.
