Opposite Ends:

Kita was finally headed toward the waterfall she always visited when she was human. She stepped from the thick of the forest. There she saw a tall dark headed guy standing at the edge of the water looking up at the waterfall. She heard him speak aloud, but she knew it was not to her.

"Objective complete," he laughed to himself.

“And what objective might that be?” Kita asked looking toward him.

Hisagi jumped and looked over his shoulder, "A personal objective," he smirked.

"You’re a soul reaper, right?" Kita asked walking toward him.

"Yes I am, and by the looks of it, you are an Arrancar," Hisagi stayed where he was.

“Correct… Well sort of correct. So you must be here looking for either your zanpakuto or your second riddle. Which is it?” Kita questioned stopping a few feet from him.

Hisagi sighed," I am looking for my second Riddle. What are you here for?"

Kita nodded, "The same. So what was your riddle? Mine was: I fall and I fall and I fall and I stay where I am."

Hisagi froze. "That is mine as well," He murmured.

Kita giggled softly, "and they say the gods have no sense of humor." Kita stepped up beside Hisagi and smiled as she offered her hand, “My name is Kita Miyamoto. Maybe they want us to work together here?”

Hisagi shifted to his left foot and then shook Kita's hand, "And my name is Lieutenant Hisagi Shuuhei. If they want us to work together, I am not sure if it could work," Hisagi said blankly.

“A lieutenant, are you Captain Ukitake’s lieutenant by chance?” Kita asked. “Why do you say that?” Kita narrowed her eyes at him. “Please do not tell me you're one of those types?”

Hisagi chuckled slightly," No, I am not Captain Ukitake's lieutenant. And I am not that kind of person, you seem nice, although I have been wrong on some occasions."

“Well you’re not wrong on this one. I would hope Juushiro looks at me as a friend as I do him.” Kita smiled brightly, “Just ask him about me when you return back to the soul society.” She paused for a second then looked to the waterfall once more, “What do you say we work together here. I think things might go a lot easier on us if we did.” Hisagi looked at her his eyes held a slight disbelief, “Call it woman’s intuition.” She told him looking his way again.

Hisagi looked at the water, "Ok, fine, let’s work together. I am assuming if we don't, maybe we will fail," He sighed.

Kita nodded, "well they can’t and won’t hide paper in the water. That would be a waste of everyone’s time. So..." Kita looked around the area.

Hisagi chuckled again, "Paper in water, that would get a bit soggy," he said as he started to help Kita search.

Kita stepped toward the water as her eyes followed it toward the fall. "I fall and I fall and I fall," she spoke at a whisper.

Hisagi bent down for a minute and then stood back up, "I might have figured the riddle out with no problem, but I can't seem to find it," He talked to himself.

Kita turned looking at him, as she pointed to the fall. "There behind the fall." She started walking toward the fall looking back at Hisagi to see if he was following.

Hisagi looked at her then decided to follow, "Don't see how you figured that out," He frowned.

“It’s simple. You can’t hide paper in the water for one. The riddle reads I stay where I am. Even if you could hide paper in the water. Water does not stay where it is. So it has to be behind the fall. Right?” Kita quizzed him.

Hisagi looked at Kita," I see your point," He smiled.

Kita nodded and sonidoed to one of the large rock that was beside the waterfall. "It looks as if this is the place to start. You can get behind the fall here." Kita called down to him.

Hisagi shunpued over to Kita and looked behind the rock, "Seems you are correct."

Kita offered for him to enter first since he was there first.

Hisagi walked behind the water, and then stopped, "It is not that large of an opening in here," He smirked.

Following in behind Hisagi, Kita nodded to his observation. “The rocks are not exactly what you would call a good foot hold either.” Kita looked down at the green moss covered rocks under their feet.

Kita then looked up as a huge smile crossed her face. She pointed a few steps away from them and looked at Hisagi. Hisagi grinned, and then took a step, just to slip and fall.

He blinked, "Ow."

Kita quickly grabbed Hisagi by his arm making sure he did not fall to the bottom. "You alright?"

Hisagi accepted the help and then stood up, "Yeah, I think so, wanna grab the paper and get out of this damn hole." Hisagi frowned.

"I agree," Kita said, "can you get them or do you want me to try?"

He sighed and then gingerly walked over to the paper, almost falling, he bent down and grabbed it. "Ok, time to walk back," Hisagi's eyes went a bit wide when he said that.

Kita giggled when she saw his face, "Don't think about it, Hisagi. We are not going to fall." Kita was already walking back toward the opening.

Hisagi sighed, starting to walk back across the rocks, jumping at the last one, landing beside Kita, almost slipping.

Kita grabbed his hand as he faltered back some.

"Here, you can hold on to this," He smirked as she caught him. He handed Kita the paper.

She took the paper from him and pulled him to a sturdy stand next to her. "Ready to get back to solid ground?" Kita asked him looking down at the ground below them.

Hisagi laughed, "Of course."

"Let’s go then. We will read the next riddle down there."

Hisagi nodded and then started to make his way down to solid ground. Once back on the ground Kita stepped up to Hisagi.

"Ready for this?" She watched him nod then opened the piece of paper. The two stood there and read what is said.
